Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel-Naby, President of the Russian Egyptian University, announced that (3) researchers from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence\u00a0 have obtained an international certification in the fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence; within the framework of the joint cooperation protocol between ERU Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and the global company “IBM”, under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mostafa, President of the University’s Board of Trustees.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

ERU President\u00a0 explained that this is an activation of the university’s role as an educational and research institution that interacts with the needs of society, supports the “Digital Egypt” strategy, and the state’s efforts towards digital transformation, as well as implementing the university’s strategy in institutional development and building the capacities of faculty members, honing them with practical and international experiences; in order to transfer these experiences to students and enhance their digital culture; with the aim of preparing for absorbing digital transformation and sustainability projects.<\/p>

In the same context, Dr. Hisham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, confirmed that the researchers who obtained the international certifications are:\u00a0 Salma Ashraf, Wafaa Mohamed in the field of Data Science, and Mariam Hajaj in the field of Artificial Intelligence. They were selected to receive a course in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, which is considered one of the most important fields at the present time. The course was held over two weeks at a rate of (3) training hours per day.<\/p>

The Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence added that this step comes within the framework of encouraging faculty members and their assistants to effectively and positively communicate with the international community; to enhance their skills and gain experiences in various technological fields and modern technologies, explaining that the course included theoretical curricula and practical training on the latest IBM technologies in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and at the end of the training, an international certificate was awarded to each of them.<\/p>

For his part, Dr. Sameh Zarif, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department, and Supervisor of the IBM Academy at the Russian Egyptian University, stated that developing the capabilities of faculty members\u00a0 is important to raise their academic efficiency in the fields of teaching, research, and community service which has become a vital matter. The fact that faculty members at the university obtain international certifications directly reflects on the quality of education and the development of curricula in the university.<\/p>

Dr. Zarif also pointed out that the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence courses at “IBM” for researchers come within the framework of a protocol for training faculty members from the faculty of Artificial Intelligence; so that they become certified trainers from “IBM”; afterwards, they will train students or professionals in these fields through courses held for them at “IBM Academy” on campus.<\/p>
