Faculty of Al-Alsun at the Egyptian Russian University Holds Seminar on \u201cTranslation Vision 2030\u201d\u2026 Photos\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Dr. Makarem El-Ghamry, Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Technical Languages at the Egyptian Russian University, announced that a seminar titled \u201cTranslation Vision 2030\u201d was held in collaboration with iTranslate Group. In the seminar, she shared her vision for translation in 2030, beginning with an overview of the current state of translation in Egypt and the Arab world. She noted that the seminar was held with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University\u2019s Board of Trustees, and under the patronage of Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnaby, President of the University.

The dean elab\u201drated on her vision for the future of translation in Egypt in the age of digitalization, stressing the need for organizations responsible for publishing translated books\u2014such as the National Center for Translation and the Egyptian General Book Organization\u2014to adopt a well-thought-out translation strategy aligned with the needs of development in the digital era. This strategy should give due attention to scientific translation and diversify the topics of translated books beyond just literature. She also emphasized the importance of promoting reverse translation (from Arabic into other languages) to share our heritage with the world and enhance our cultural image.

Dr. El-Ghamry highlighted the need to compile a bibliographic guide to translations already produced, noting that while some texts have multiple translations, many important works have yet to be translated for the Arabic reader. She also stressed the importance of students mastering the use of artificial intelligence tools in translation and language learning\u2014while recognizing that machine translation is not a substitute for human effort, but rather a supportive tool. The role of the human translator in editing and proofreading remains essential and irreplaceable.

The Dean addressed students with a message encouraging them to focus on mastering languages and gaining experience in various fields of translation.

In turn, the guest speakers shared their personal experiences regarding the needs of the labor market and the opportunities available for graduates to gain experience and training.

It Is worth mentioning that the seminar topic was well received by the attendees, including students, faculty members, teaching assistants, and prominent figures in higher education and scientific research. The event gave them the opportunity to learn about the evolution of translation in Egypt, future prospects for translation movements, and the labor market requirements for translators, faculty, and assistants.<\/p>
