Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ihab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University “ERU”, announced that a workshop was held for students on the importance of “scientific research”, to educate them about its basics, provide them with skills, involve them in future research projects, and open new horizons in the field of work and scientific research. Noting that this workshop with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and is under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the University.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University “ERU” added that this scientific workshop is held for the fourth year, and comes within the framework of the Egyptian Russian University’s interest in scientific research, opening its horizons to students and improving their skills, which allows them to obtain scientific degrees, and enhances their competitive ability to obtain Postgraduate scholarships after graduation. The workshop was held over a period of (3) days in the central research laboratories inside the college and Hall (2) in the new building of the College of Pharmacy, pointing out that many members of the teaching staff and the college’s supporting staff and officials from pharmaceutical companies participated in the workshop, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Unit of the college. The workshop witnessed a large attendance of students who expressed their benefit from the various theoretical and practical sessions.
Dr. Mohamed Ihab Fattouh explained that the aim of the workshop is to raise the level of students and create a research environment that keeps pace with the great development witnessed by scientific research every day, whether at the local or international level. Also to create a generation of pharmacists who are capable of innovation and keep pace with that is new in the fields of “pharmaceutical sciences”… revealing that the workshops support students upon their graduation and raise their abilities to compete in the “local and international” labor market, and refine their skills by dealing directly with academics and specialists.
The workshop was attended by: “Dr. Mahmoud Marei, director of the quality control unit in AstraZeneca, Dr. Abdullah Mohamed, teacher of analytical chemistry, Dr. Mohamed Adel Abdel-Maqsoud, teacher of pharmacies, Dr. Mohamed Adel Sayed, teacher of pharmaceutical chemistry, Dr. Abdullah Fathi, teacher of biochemistry, and demonstrator Abdel Hamid Abu Bakr. Assistant Lecturer of Pharmaceutics, Teaching Assistant Sameh Hossam, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Teaching Assistant Mahmoud Sami Al-Katami, Assistant Lecturer of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Teaching Assistant Alaa Reda, Assistant Lecturer of Analytical Chemistry, and Dr. Hossam Samir, Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutics at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University.
