ERU Beauty Expo: The Third Cosmetics Fair Organized by the Egyptian Russian University’s Faculty of Pharmacy
Dr. Mohamed Ihab Fotouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced the opening of the third edition of the Cosmetics Fair titled “The Third ERU Beauty Expo.” This annual event, held as part of the practical student projects within the faculty, showcases student creativity and skills to company owners and professionals in the field. The expo is supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and under the auspices of Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, the University President.
The dean highlighted that the fair includes outstanding products related to the courses of “fourth and fifth-year students” of the faculty. The exhibits impressed attendees, including prominent figures in higher education, public personalities, and manufacturers. They viewed student projects, listened to detailed explanations, and praised the high quality of the products, commending the students for their effort and commitment to excelling in the pharmaceutical field.
Dr. Afaf Ramadan, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology at ERU, stated that the goal of the expo is to encourage and support the development of students’ abilities and skills. It aims to foster teamwork and prepare them for the job market at the local, regional, and international levels, giving them the experience and necessary skills to start projects related to their studies and enabling them to engage in entrepreneurship and sustainable development. One of the methods employed includes holding such expos to motivate students to compete in creating pharmaceutical products using natural raw materials.
Dr. Ramadan added that the students presented a variety of products developed in the faculty’s laboratories, such as sulfate-free shampoo, hair conditioner, lip balms, hyaluronic acid serum, disinfectants, and soap bars containing beneficial natural ingredients like black seed, turmeric, oats, and cocoa, among others. She noted that the projects allowed students to apply their academic knowledge in formulating various skincare and haircare products meeting industry quality standards.
The expo sparked positive interactions among the students, fostering continuous scientific research, innovation, and creative thinking in the field of cosmetic pharmaceutical products.
The organization of “The Third ERU Beauty Expo” involved Dr. Tasneem Mohamed, pharmacists Yomna Suleiman, Mona Ayman, Shaimaa Abdel Aziz, and assistant members of the department.
