Under supervision of Faculty of Artificial Intelligence ... Egyptian Russian University wins first place in Ministry of Higher Education's Competition ... photos

     Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that students from the university’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence won first place in the short film competition “Together.” The competition was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for students from Egyptian universities and institutes, including public, private, and non-governmental educational institutions. The competition was held under the patronage of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. His Excellency emphasized the university’s keenness to support the students’ participation in such purposeful competitions and initiatives, which demonstrate their creative capacities, enhance their sense of belonging, and contribute to shaping community awareness.

     ERU President highlighted that the competition’s jury was headed by Dr. Adel Abd-el-Ghaffar, Media Advisor and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, while the Jury Secretariat was served by Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Development Institute. He pointed out that students from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence participated in the competition with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

     In the same context, Dr. Hesham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the ERU, asserted that the faculty students who won the “Together” short film competition managed to seize the first place from among 205 competing teams at the level of all universities. He pinpointed that the students’ participation was supervised by Dr. Wael Badawy, Head of the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the ERU, and that the university’s team consisted of the following students:

– Student / Ahmed Ramy, performed the montage and took part in writing the theme.

– Student / Mohamed Mahfouz, shot the whole film.

– Student / Khaled Hassan, acted and took part in writing the theme.

– Student / Abd-el-Rahman Atef, acted.

– Student / Mohamed Atrees, acted.

 

     The Dean of the ERU’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence stated that the university and the faculty are keen on involving the university’s students in such competitions as they play a vital role in developing their skills and honing their talents, with the purpose of enabling them to compete in the labor markets: local, regional, and global ones. He added that the name of the film produced by the students was related to combating addiction and raising awareness on its dangers, and that it was only a one-minute film contributing to the call to stay away from drugs and to support values ​​and straightness. The competition is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to build healthy youth personalities and to protect them against destructive thoughts.

     It is worth mentioning that the jury included a group of elite academics and specialists in the areas of arts and media, including: Dr. Youssef Al-Mallakh, Head of the Cinema Department at the International Academy of Engineering and Media Sciences, Dr. Ghada Gibara, President of the Academy of Arts and Deputy Director of the Cinema Professions Syndicate, Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Helwan University and Advisor to the President of Helwan University, Director / Dr. Amr Abdeen, Chairman of Nile Drama Channel, Dr. Mohamed Thabet Badary, former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut University and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the ERU; and Journalist / Fatma Shaarawy, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram Newspaper and Head of the Radio and Television Department.
