Participation of the Egyptian Russian University in the 4th Edition of the "Listen and Speak" Forum

 As an initiative to raise awareness and a sense of responsibility, and to enhance the role of youth in community development, while instilling the values of dialogue and respect for others’ opinions, a delegation of students from the Egyptian Russian University, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, participated in the events of the 4th edition of the “Listen and Speak” Forum. The forum was organized by the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism at the Al-Azhar Conference Center in Nasr City.

The university delegation took part in the forum sessions, which included throughout the day, discussion panels on “Civil and Voluntary Work and its Role in Bridging the Social Gap and Combating Extremism,” and “The Role of Youth in Raising Awareness of the Palestinian Cause in the Digital Media Age.” A distinguished group of experts and university professors attended the sessions, during which opinions were exchanged, points of disagreement were addressed, and misconceptions clarified to protect young people from falling into the traps of extremist ideology.

At the conclusion of the forum, recommendations were made to support youth initiatives that use digital media to combat fake news and hate speech, and to provide platforms for youth to showcase their digital creativity and exchange experiences. The Observatory also announced the launch of the “Ihyaa” (Revival) platform as a nucleus for future platforms to communicate with youth. Institutions and promising youth were called upon to join efforts and work together to achieve the desired goals, in belief that our youth are the future leaders and builders of tomorrow.
