In order to consolidate the university’s societal role and to enhance the idea of volunteer work and its role in community development and its repercussions on students, in a distinctive festive atmosphere, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. / Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, the Egyptian Russian University, in cooperation with the University’s Social Solidarity Unit, organized a celebration in which a large number of volunteer students and members of Students’ union, staff members, and the supporting staff from various colleges, where the Madinah Al Munawwarah Orphanage and the Charity Sharing House for orphans with special needs were hosted.
At the beginning of the celebration, the volunteer students took the children on a tour inside the university to visit the faculties and simply talk to them about the different disciplines. Some competitions were held, artistic performances were performed by some volunteer students, and a puppet show was held to bring joy and pleasure to the children. The celebration also included a drawing and coloring session, and some members of the College of Fine Arts’ staff at the university and the students drew on the faces of the children, which added more happiness to them. At the end of the day some simple souvenirs were distributed.
