A discussion of the projects of a number of interrelated courses for students of the third year, “Business Technology Major” at the Egyptian Russian University
Within the framework of working on linking specialized practical courses, urging to be taught in ways that keep pace with current technology developments, and searching for new and innovative ways to attract students to benefit from these courses, not only for the purpose of passing the exam, but to encourage the development of their practical skills to prepare them for the labor market. Projects of a number of interrelated courses for the third year students majoring in Business Technology were discussed under the auspices of Prof. Sherif Fakhry, president of the University, and prof. Tahra Hamia, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Business Technology, and under the supervision of Dr. Israa Afifi, a lecturer in the Department of Data Science at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian Russian University.
The courses concerned with the implementation of these projects include: system analysis and design, databases, electronic commerce, and web- based applications. The students submitted projects, including:
– A website entitled “BUCKLE UP” by student: Mazen Alaa
This site presents the services of various tourism companies that provide the needs of customers when traveling, as the site facilitates the travel process for different social categories. It completes the reservation process where the customer chooses the destination he wants to travel to and determines the appropriate price category for him, then the website creates a table that includes all the details related to his destination. This site is distinguished by guiding the customer to travel to the most beautiful sights. It makes it easier for the customer to choose the trip, hotels, and restaurants which suit the price category chosen by him. This site is also distinguished as it is one of the non- profit sites.
– Website and mobile applications “ARABICA” by student: Ahmed El-Desouki and student: Paula Tarek
This website or mobile applications facilitates ordering coffee, baked goods, and donuts, and the possibility of
delivering them to the customer at the location specified in the order in advance. It also collects the order value by online payment methods only; in order to save the customer’s time and provide his favorite coffee through the application or website.
– Website and mobile applications “Trendy Shoe” by student: Theodora Maher and student: Melissa Majed
It is a website and mobile application that aims to market shoes of all kinds only online, as it targets a specific group of women between 18 to 40 years old, due to the availability of purchasing power for this category based on international statistics, where the customer chooses the product to be purchased, and selects the location for the delivery of her order. The value of the order is collected through various payment methods, such as visa, cash or upon receipt.
– A website entitled “Shop IT” by student: Majed Ali and student: Ahmed Rabie
It is a website for marketing ready- made clothes. This site facilitates the process of selling and buying ready-made clothes. It aims to save the customer’s time by choosing different clothes without the need to go to the store. There is also a proposition for adding a simulation model to facilitate the display for the customer by trying any product whose measurements have been determined and conforms to customer measurements.
The discussion of the projects witnessed great attendance of the teaching assistants involved in teaching these courses, namely: assistant lecturer/ Reham Abdullah, teaching assistant/ Ahmed Ayman, and teaching assistant/ Mohamed Al- Husseini.
