How Does Digital Transformation Affect the Future of jobs and Green Economy? The Egyptian Russian University Organizes a Lecture on the Importance of Digital Transformation .

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence organized   a lecture entitled: “How Does Digital Transformation Affect the Future of jobs and Green economy?” to consolidate the concepts and objectives of digital transformation at all levels. Such organization falls within the framework of Egypt’s vision 2030 to build “Digital Egypt”, and the state’s adoption of a strategy that works to transform the scientific and administrative institutions and services into a data-based digital system. The lecture was supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mostafa, Chairman of the University Board of trustees.

 



Dr. Essam Khamis, ERU Vice President explained that many current jobs will disappear in the future and that technology will contribute to the creation of new fields and jobs such as: robots, maintenance, monitoring, operation, programming, and development. He pointed out that “big data” is what helps in formulating policies and making decisions in most fields, and that optimal utilization of such data is employed through artificial intelligence, which has contributed to the tremendous technological advancements in self-driving cars and planes, 3D printing, blockchain, expansion of smart devices and sensors, information technology development, application development, information technology system management, hardware manufacturing, genomics, and others.

 

ERU Vice President stated that the topic of the lecture is part of achieving a clear and specific goal, which is to help our students prepare themselves from now on to enhance their skills, so that they can find job opportunities after graduation and keep up with the needs of the local, regional, and international labour market. He emphasized that the university administration is doing its best to provide the best in terms of the quality of education, and to establish faculties and programs coinciding with the technological revolution and the world rapid technological changes, in order to prepare cadres capable of achieving digital transformation goals and of adapting to the changes of the age, bearing in mind the changing nature and forms of future professions.

Dr. Hisham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that among the specialists who spoke to the students about the importance of digital transformation and its impact on the future of jobs and the green economy are: Dr. Mohamed Khalif, an expert in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, and Dr. Mai Kamel, a representative of the Emediast Foundation. He explained that the goal of the lecture is to spread the culture of digital transformation, and to gain the acceptance of various sectors of society for this transformation, and to maximize its importance in changing the lifestyle in all aspects, and the mechanism of transitioning to this stage with the participation of civil society institutions.

Dr. Mohamed Bahiry, Assistant Professor of computer science at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian-Russian University, emphasized that the importance of the lecture lies in the fact that students and society would acquire basic knowledge of information technology and its various applications, and spresding knowledge and accessing applicable sources of knowledge, especially in the field of digital transformation. He also revealed that the education at ERU includes training, creative thinking, and entrepreneurship.
