In cooperation with the Housing and Building National Research Center , The Egyptian Russian University and Izhevsk University inaugurate the 12th International Conference on Nanotechnology for Green and Sustainable Construction
The heads of the Egyptian Russian University, the Housing and Building National Research Center and the Izhevsk State Technical University in the Russian Federation inaugurated the activities of the 12th International Conference on “Nanotechnology for Green and Sustainable Construction”, which is held at “Sharm el- Sheikh” City in South Sinai Governorate from 12 until 16 of this March 2021. The conference was attended by a large number of participants from Arab and Foreign countries under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.
At the beginning of the conference, Prof.Dr.Sherif Fakhry ,President of the Egyptian Russian University welcomed the attendees, the Russian delegation and all the guests who travelled in this difficult time to join the conference and present their recent scientific contributions and discuss the future of research in the field of nanotechnology in green and sustainable building.
The president of the Egyptian Russian University announced that the title of the conference was amended this year to indicate a new era after the addition of the green and sustainable building.
He explained that the goal is to achieve the dream of this generation of humanity of enjoying comfort and economic benefits without sacrificing the rights of future generations to use Earth resources through “nanotechnology”. This directs scientific research to applications in the field of “nanotechnology” while continuing to discuss basic scientific issues.
In the same context, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Dhahabi, Chairman of the Housing and Building National Research Center, added that the conference is a result of fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the Russian Federation in research and building sciences. He also pointed out that the use of nanotechnology in the field of construction is one of the most important applications which guarantees the production of modern building materials with distinctive characteristics that contribute in building sustainable urban societies to reduce the use of energy and preserve environmental resources.
On his behalf, Prof.Dr. Gregory Yakovlov, head of the Geotechnics and Building Materials Department and head of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University delegation, expressed his happiness for attending the conference and the addition of “green concrete technology” in the conference’s current session as it has a positive impact on society in sustainable development, reducing costs and protecting human health and the environment. He also added that the researchers succeeded in developing simple and economical methods for producing nanomaterials and changing the mechanical and physical properties to be used in building materials and green concrete.
