The Department of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University organized In Cairo, the exhibition “The Splendor of Medical Plants” extravaganza for the six consecutive year, for first-year students in the College of Pharmacy, and the exhibition came within the framework of the encouragement of the management of the university that provides support for all means of developing students’ abilities and skills through scientific projects to encourage them to be engaged in work group and enjoy it.

Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo, stated during his speech at the opening of the exhibition that this year’s event was held on the Internet “remotely”. In application of the trend of using the “hybrid education” system, to achieve distancing and adherence to procedures of precautions; To preserve the health of students, staff and faculty members from the risk of exposure to the “Corona” virus, while maintaining Communication between students and faculty.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo indicated that the aim of the exhibition is to achieve cooperation between students and exchange information in the field of medicinal plants and its benefits and an indication of the importance of the different types of these plants and their multiple beneficial uses in daily life thanking the organizers of the exhibition from the faculty members of the “Faculty of Pharmacy” Inside the university campus, in order to ensure the continuity of this important exhibition every year..

In a related context, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ihab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that it is possible to resort to medicinal plants under medical supervision of “medicinal plants” In sick cases when it is difficult to use chemical drugs for fear of deteriorating the patient’s condition who might suffer side effects. He revealed that the “medicinal plants” is widely available in most Arab countries, making the countries of the region qualified for a promising future in the field of producing these plants, noting that medicinal plants are easy to eat and cheap when compared to expensive chemical medicines.

For her part, Professor Omaima El-Gendy, Head of the Pharmacognosy Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that “medicinal plants”  has the ability to treat more than one disease at the same time; The plant contains many compounds, as well as vitamins and minerals of importance in strengthening the patient’s body and improving his health in general.

The Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy at the College of Pharmacy confirmed that thanks to the development and scientific progress in various fields, people have been able to gradually do without medicinal plants in treatment and replace it with drugs and chemical drugs, it was expected that the disease will decline and be controlled, but what happened is the contrary when man knew diseases that did not exist before, and chronic diseases appeared.

In the same context, Dr. Dina El-Naggar, the lecturer in the Pharmacognosy department at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University and the supervisor of organizing the exhibition stated that a special channel for the exhibition was created on the “You tube” website to display all the works of the exhibition “The Splendor of medicinal” Plants Extravaganza; Live broadcasting system to simulate the interactive nature between students and faculty member to document it for the benefit of the students
