Inauguration of a satellite laboratory at the Egyptian Russian University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University received an educational satellite laboratory, based on the protocol signed between the Egyptian Space Agency and the university, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Seddik, Department of Communications Engineering. The lab provides the students with the opportunity for practical training in the field of space science, and to understand and explore the main concepts of designing electronic systems, mechanical systems, and all related electronic tools. The laboratory was received and installed by a specialized committee from the Egyptian Space Agency, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Fikri Al-Moazami, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Student Affairs, Dr. Shaima Mostafa, Head of the Communications Department, Dr. Tamer Saleh, the lecturer in the Department of Communications and the general supervisor of the lab and training, and a number of the department’s professors. During this event, the satellite was operated and simplified guidance was given on its capabilities, provided that training will be completed at the space agency for a number of faculty members at the agency’s headquarters. Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, honored the delegation of the Agency for the cooperation between the Agency and the University. The agency’s delegation consisted of Engineer / Waseem Hossam Issa, head of the satellite data receiving stations group, engineer / Ahmed Ezz, senior engineer of satellite assembly at the AIT Center, engineer / Aya Abu Al-Saud, senior engineer of the satellite functional testing group, and Mr. Tharwat Morsi, the satellite assembly laboratory manager.
