The Egyptian Russian University announces the advantages of the Faculty of Engineering and the fields of work of its graduates …… pictures.
Prof. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abd El Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University announced that the university administration welcomes new students who graduate from: “General Secondary School, or its equivalent.” And wish to join it, in the university’s eight faculties, namely: Pharmacy, Engineering, Oral and Dental Medicine, Management, Economics and Business Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Arts, Fine Arts and Al Alsun and Technical Languages”. The university administration has been seeking; and with the full support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, to achieve its vision, which is to assume a prominent position among universities: “Egyptian, Arab, and International” by providing distinguished education and programs, and providing various activities: “educational, research, sports, cultural, social, and recreational.” for students.
The president of the Egyptian Russian University, added that the Faculty of Engineering at the university grants academic degrees accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and 13 batches of qualified engineers have graduated, with a good reputation in the labor market: local, regional, and international. He also noted that the College of Engineering currently has four distinct engineering programs, namely: “Construction Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, and Architectural Engineering.” The college also has a group of advanced study laboratories and educational workshops. Moreover, all the college’s programs obtained the accreditation of the “Union of Arab Engineers”. In addition to, the accreditation of the “National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation” for the two programs Communications Engineering and Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering. Meanwhile accreditation is being obtained for the construction and architecture programs. The college is keen to hold an annual employment forum in cooperation with major urban development and contracting companies, to be a link between graduates and students of the college and the labor market, and to provide them with appropriate employment and training opportunities.
In the same context, Dr. Alaa Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that the college’s programs have many advantages compared to the corresponding programs in other universities, and the most important features of the “Communications Engineering Program” is the presence of a highly qualified academic and research cadres of faculty staff members and the teaching assistants, as well as the conclusion of agreements with major institutions in the field of information and communication technology in order to build the capabilities of students and provide them with the skills necessary for the labor market. Among these an agreement with the “Huawei” Company and the establishment of the Huawei Academy at the university under the supervision of the “Department of Communications Engineering”. The students participating in the academy obtained the first positions “locally and globally”. A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the Egyptian Space Agency for cooperation in the field of space and satellite engineering and technology, and the establishment of a satellite research laboratory in the college. This current year also witnessed the inauguration of the scientific society for telecommunications students at the Egyptian Russian University, under the name “Tele Titans”. It is noticed that the fields of work for graduates of Communications Engineering Program are:
1- Governmental and private telecom companies such as Vodafone, Etisalat, Orange, and We.
2- Multiple companies in the field of communication sciences, design, and management of networks.
3- Engineering companies of various specializations, “international and local” and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
4- Specialized officers in the Police and Armed Forces.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that the Faculty’s Architectural Engineering Program offers a distinguished list of studies that allows its graduates to compete in various fields of work related to architecture “locally and regionally”. He noted that the fields of work after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in “architecture” are as follows:
Design Engineer, Site Engineer, Executive Drawing Designer, Architectural Documentary, Town planning and Landscaping,3D Perspective Designer, Building Monitoring, Architectural Technical Management,Architectural Researcher, Project Coordinator and Planner, and Architectural Development Engineer at the commercial and industrial level or specialized in preserving and restoring historical buildings and buildings of all kinds.
Dr. Alaa Al- Batsh added that the “Construction Engineering Program” in the college is distinguished by applying technological and scientific knowledge in planning, managing and constructing:
“Various buildings, roads, bridges, airports, factories, and reservoirs.” Construction Engineering combines the two disciplines of Civil Engineering and Projects Management. The program provides its enrollees with the opportunity: To expand their knowledge and experience to be able to work in many companies in one of the following specializations:
– “Executive Engineer”, applies and coordinates the various construction operations on site.
– “Technical Office Engineer”, for inventory work, design and preparation of project models, drawings, specifications, and quantities.
– “Survey Engineer”, to carry out surveying operations for different projects.
– “Cost Estimation Engineer”, estimating detailed costs and budgets for designs, implementation, processes, estimation of materials and other construction requirements.
– “Planning and Scheduling Engineer”, planning and monitoring plan timings and following up construction operations and activities.
– “Quality Control and Assurance Engineer”, his task is to ensure that the project items and construction operations comply with specifications and standards.
– “Project Monitoring Engineer”, reviews cost and time performance of a project during construction process.
– “Contracts Engineer”, reviews the contract terms for the project and prepares change orders and claims.
– “Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Harmony Engineer”, working on reviewing the implementation of projects to ensure health and safety standards.
– “Building Information Modeling Engineer”, preparing models, drawings, quantities, and business specifications.
As for the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Program, Dr. Alaa Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University said that this program is considered one of the promising disciplines due to the constant need for the fields included in this specialization, as it is a combination of four engineering disciplines, namely: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control, and computer science and programming.
He revealed that the program provides the graduate with fields of employment and work, which expand to include many jobs in factories, companies, and local, regional, and international bodies in various engineering fields such as designing, developing and maintaining technological systems, applying modern electronic control systems in factories and machines, as well as applying electronic and mechanical mechanization in applications that threatens humans, as space or deep-sea exploration, underground exploration, dealing with mines, and other dangerous environments. Moreover, when accuracy and high reliability are required, such as performing critical surgeries.
