The Egyptian-Russian University inaugurates the Faculty of Pharmacy’s cosmetics exhibition.
The leaderships of the Egyptian-Russian University, under the patronage of Dr. Muhammad Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, inaugurated the first cosmetics exhibition of the Faculty of Pharmacy, entitled “First ERU Beauty EXPO”, as part of the practical student activities inside the university campus. This exhibition will be held periodically every academic year, to include a number of distinguished products related to some of the courses of the Faculty of Pharmacy students.
Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the Egyptian-Russian University, announced that the exhibition comes within the framework of encouraging and providing support for all means of developing students’ abilities and skills to help them work in teams, prepare them for the local and international labor market, and provide them with practical experiences related to what they studied that qualify them for entrepreneurship and contributing to sustainable development. One way of achieving this is through setting up such exhibitions and motivating students to compete in the manufacture of some pharmaceutical products from natural basic raw materials.
The President of the Egyptian-Russian University praised the high level of students through the distinguished cosmetics products he saw, manufactured with quality natural ingredients. He thanked the faculty staff members at the Faculty of Pharmacy inside the university campus responsible for this exhibition because of their keenness to hold this distinguished and important exhibition for the faculty students in order to train them to contribute to sustainable economic and social development through one of the fields of pharmaceutical and investment work.
In the same context, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ihab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian-Russian University, confirmed that the aim of the exhibition is to encourage students to do scientific research and innovation and to open the way for students to share their ideas, provide good products to the community, and facilitate life for citizens. He explained that the exhibition projects allow students to implement their innovations using what they have learned in some courses, including preparing different beauty products for skin, hair, and body care and conforming to the recognized quality standards in this field. He also noted that the exhibits won the admiration of the exhibition attendees.
The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian-Russian University in Cairo added that the faculty is interested in having students exchange experiences among each other in these scientific exhibitions under the supervision of faculty staff members and informing them of the latest discoveries, scientific research, and pharmaceutical technology. The aim of this is to apply and practice the profession of pharmacy in the desired manner and to graduate a pharmacist capable of competition.
For her part, Dr. Afaf Ramadan, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, explained that the exhibition this year was under the supervision of Dr. Amal Abdel Moneim, Pharmaceutics Teacher, and with the active participation of Muhammad Ashraf, a Pharmacist and a Teaching Assistant in the department. She pointed out that the faculty administration is keen through the establishment of these exhibitions on preparing a distinguished graduate able to keep pace with the requirements of the “local, regional, and international” labor market.
The Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology stated that this year’s exhibition was able to achieve the desired goals in raising the level and developing the performance of students in the Department of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, as well as expanding their horizons collaboratively to maintain their distinguished level and continuously improve it.
