The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo provides some advice on the principles of proper and correct nutrition for all family members and how to follow a good health regimen that faces challenges from the outbreak of diseases and epidemics such as the “Corona” virus, and in order to correct the widely spread misconceptions regarding nutrition in general.. This step comes within the framework of the educational and enlightening role of community services carried out by the Faculty of Pharmacy under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the Egyptian Russian University.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed IhabFattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that the “Biochemistry Department” at the faculty launched an awareness campaign under the name of “Proper Nutrition”; It aims to follow a proper and correct nutrition regimen.. He pointed out that the campaign is attended by a group of  theFaculty of Pharmacy students, and under the supervision of the “Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Nutrition” in the college.

The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that proper and correct nutrition is the main reason for avoiding many diseases and the main reason for maintaining heart and bone health, proper digestion and reducing the risk of cancers and chronic diseases. He also explained the relation between improper nutrition and the increased incidence of many diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes.

The assistant lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry and Clinical Nutrition at the College of Pharmacy explained that the recommendations of the campaign included clarifying the concept of the glycemic index for the public; as the response of insulin hormone  in the human body to different types of food is not the same; This response depends on the sensitivity of the insulin hormone to each food type and to what extent the “blood glucose” rises after this meal.
