In the fifth sector competitions’ events, The Egyptian Russian University seizes the cup in the Universities Sports Federation Championship.
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, declared that the university students won the third place cup in the Fifth Sector Championship for the futsal. This victory came as part of the activities of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation competitions for the academic year (2021-2022), which was held on April 9 amid a spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan at the American University campus in New Cairo in the Fifth Settlement. He indicated that the university delegation went to the tournament with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mostafa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Russian University.
The President of the Egyptian Russian University congratulated the Futsal team for achieving the third place in the championship, for gaining the bronze medal in the Futsal league for universities, and for their superiority over many of the participating students, who were more than 120 students representing 12 participating universities in the tournament’s activities. The team was praised for their honorable appearance, distinguished level and the high spirit that characterized their performance throughout the days of the tournament until they got the bronze medal. He explained that the university administration is keen on supporting all kinds of student activities inside and outside the university campus, that aim to refining students’ skills, shaping their personality and giving them experience. In addition, that kind of honest competition with others is an incentive to continue their academic success.
In the same context, Ms. Ikram Mohamed, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Russian University, expressed her excitement with the exerted effort by the university’s Central Administration for Youth Welfare and Activities in discovering and nurturing talented and distinguished students in all sports, whether individual or collective, and supporting them to win championships. They pave the way for the university to produce honorable generations and serious persons who are able to compete and contribute in building a generation that represents the nation in international forums and on podiums.
For her part, Dr. Hana Abdel Rahman, the pioneer of student activities at the Egyptian Russian University, praised the university’s team achievement and the students’ heroic performance in raising the university’s name. She expressed that this new achievement has been added to the full record of the university’s achievements in sport activities in the recent period. This is due to the university administration’s interest in the sports system and its development, as well as its keenness on providing means of support and care for all students. She noted that the university’s administration wishes all its students excellence in all fields “scientific, research, and sports”, and sends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to them for always standing on the local and international podiums, and being honored in various forums.
Captain Mohamed Abdullah Mostafa, Director of the Central Administration for Youth Welfare and Activities at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that participation in these major sports tournaments comes within the framework of the university’s interest in student activities to encourage its students, develop their talents and employ their energies in what they desire.
The Director of the Central Administration for Youth Welfare and Activities at the Egyptian Russian University clarified that the university team was in the championship under the supervision of Captain Abdullah Ahmed Mohamed, the general coach, and Captain Mahmoud Ahmed Abdel Aziz, the sports supervisor in the administration. The university team consists of 10 students:
