Most Important Reasons to Join the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University.. with Photos

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university administration welcomes new students   from “General Secondary Education or its equivalent” to join its eight faculties: “Engineering, Oral & Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Management, Economics and Business Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Al-Alsun and Technical Languages”. He noted that since its establishment, the university has been striving to achieve its vision of occupying a prestigious position among Egyptian, Arab, and international universities, with support from Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

In the same context, Dr. Alaa Mohamed El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the most important reasons for General Secondary graduates and equivalent certificate holders to decide to join the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University are:

  • The university has a distinguished geographical location close to the New Administrative Capital and suitable for residents of Cairo and Giza, in addition to many governorates such as Sharqia, Qalyubia, Ismailia, Suez….

  • The college has an excellent infrastructure with air-conditioned auditoriums and halls. All halls are equipped with the latest display methods and all means of comfort, security, and protection. There is also a building dedicated to laboratories and educational workshops, including modern laboratories covering the various specializations of the college and educational-productive workshops used in the educational process and community service.

  • The scientific departments in the Faculty of Engineering are characterized by diversity and difference to serve the requirements of the local, regional, and international labor market. The college’s regulations are periodically updated to keep pace with contemporary knowledge. The existing departments are: “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, Communications Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Architectural Engineering.”

  • The college includes distinguished elite faculty members and their assistants from different engineering faculties, to ensure the provision of the best educational services. Faculty members use teaching methods that depend on interaction, continuous follow-up, and encouragement of research and innovation, using international textbooks and references, with emphasis on developing communication skills and teamwork.

  • The study in the college follows the credit hours system, which allows distinguished students the possibility of graduating in less than five years. This system also gives students the ability to effectively organize time and distribute activities and subjects in a way that maximizes the use of study time.

  • There is a twinning program with Izhevsk Russian University, which allows students who wish to study some semesters in Russia to obtain a dual degree: a graduation certificate from the Egyptian Russian University and another from Izhevsk Russian University.

  • All departments have obtained accreditation from the Arab Engineers Union and the Arab Accreditation Council for Engineering and Technology, which has become one of the requirements for acceptance to work in most Arab countries.

  • Obtaining accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance of Education and Accreditation, where three programs have so far been accredited: “Communications Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, and Construction Engineering. The Authority team has reviewed to accredit the Architectural Engineering program, and the accreditation decision is awaited soon.

  • The scientific departments have some cooperation protocols with Russian universities and entities that serve students and contribute to their training. There are also many cooperation protocols with local companies and bodies to provide summer training opportunities for students and research cooperation, training, and exchange of experiences, including: “Huawei Global Academy, Egyptian Space Agency, Arab Contractors Company, Orascom, Hassan Allam, National Authority for Military Production, Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Al-Hadhiq Contracting Company, Electronics Research Institute, Building Research Center, and Telecom Egypt.”

  • The university is keen to sponsor student project exhibitions in all specializations, attended by experts and industry professionals, where students’ ideas and innovations are presented, and the best are selected for specialists and industry professionals to sponsor, support, and implement. The college also encourages students to participate in local, regional, and international competitions and supports them to achieve advanced positions.

  • As examples of the Faculty of Engineering sponsorship of student projects and its positive contribution to localizing smart electric vehicle technology to achieve sustainable development in Egypt, two work teams of undergraduate students from the Mechatronics Engineering program and the Communications Engineering program succeeded in winning financial support in the ITAC-ITIDA initiative competition to support graduation projects – at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. They managed to convert a traditional car with a gasoline engine and mechanical systems into an electric car and equip the car with intelligent machine vision systems, building a complex system consisting of diverse groups: mechanical – control and embedded systems – digital networks – artificial intelligence – sensors – adapters. The students also managed to obtain sixth place at the university level in the International Scientific Innovations Competition at the Egyptian Military Academy.

  • Students of engineering at the Egyptian Russian University also won first place at the level of Egyptian universities in the Eighth International Military Technical College Competition (Lieutenant General Ibrahim Selim Award) in the field of drone design and programming to provide an unmanned aerial vehicle that can be operated remotely and autonomously.

  • In the same context, the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University had previously celebrated its team winning second place at the level of Egyptian universities in the Electric Car Rally (EVER-2019) organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in which the university participates regularly.

  • A scientific conference is also held for each department, and a scientific conference for the college, where distinguished students and award winners are honored.
