A Training workshop on the "Egyptian Parliament" at the Egyptian Russian University .
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, and in the context of keenness on social and political awareness and providing students with different experiences, the Egyptian Russian University Youth Parliament was formed, simulating the parliament.
In view of the importance of the educational process and its role in creating aware generation, a training workshop was held for two days, 10-11 April 2023, for members of the Egyptian-Russian University Youth Parliament representing the Egyptian Parliament. Eng. Islam Nasr, the trainer accredited by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in political and civic education, lectured.
The workshop dealt with introducing the Egyptian Parliament (its history, role, objectives, divisions, and oversight tools). Then, the electoral process, the division of constituencies, and the proportions of participation were identified. After that, a bureau of the House of Representatives was elected to implement an actual simulation of the Council. A number of questions and briefing requests were prepared to be presented to the representatives of the relevant ministries and representatives from outside the youth of the university parliament.
At the end of the workshop, the students presented a complete simulation model under the honor of Prof. Dr. Essam Khamis, Vice President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hanaa Abdel Rahman, Student Activities Officer at the University, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Behery, General Coordinator of Parliament.
