In cooperation with the Egyptian Countryside Company and the participation of 6 universities and 3 institutes The Egyptian Russian University announces the winners of the Best Bridge Model Award.

Dr. Sherif Fahkry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the “Faculty of Engineering” at the university organized the “Best Bridge Model BBM” competition, which is supervised by the Department of Construction Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering for the third consecutive season, and (60) teams from various Egyptian universities and institutes competed, Noting that the competition was organized with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, and Major General Engineer Amr Abdel Wahab, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Egyptian Countryside Development Company.
In the same context, Dr. Alaa Mohamed El Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the Best Bridge Model BBM competition was participated in by the faculties of engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, Badr University, Helwan University, University of Hertfordshire, Sinai University, and Zagazig University, and the institutes of: “10th, Shorouk Academy, and El Obour Institute”. He added that the events were characterized by an atmosphere of adventure and competition between more than (60) teams from various Egyptian universities and institutes; to win a prize for the best model of a bridge made of wooden sticks.
For her part, Dr. Fatma Shaltout, Head of the Department of Construction Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that the competition was held in cooperation with the Egyptian Rural Development Company, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Rabah, the general supervisor of the competition and the head of the Scientific Activity Club “New Vision”& responsible for organizing the competition. The awards were presented by Dr. Venus Fayed, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Rural Development Company, and the distribution of prizes was as follows:
“First place 10 thousand pounds, second place 7 thousand pounds, third place 5 thousand pounds, in addition to in-kind prizes provided by the university”; for the participants in the competition.
The Head of the Department of Construction Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University revealed the winners:h
1- First place “Corner Stone Team” from the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in the city of Tenth of Ramadan.
2- Second place “Team Truss Worthy” from Helwan University.
3- Third place “Corner Stone Team” from the Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology in the city of Tenth of Ramadan.
It is worth noting that the jury consisted of: “Dr. Gouda Mohamed Ghanem, Professor of Materials Properties, Dr. Alaa Sherif, Professor of Concrete Structures, and Dr. Sherif Alwan, Professor of Concrete Structures.” The testing of the models and recording of the results were supervised by a group of faculty members at the Russian University, namely: “Dr. Ali Al-Rifai, Dr. Amani Farouk, Dr. Ghada Gamal, Dr. Safinaz, Dr. Mohamed Gamal, and Eng. Osama Ahmed.”
The Best Bridge Model BBM competition was attended by Eng. Ahmed Hashish, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, representing the Engineers Syndicate, in addition to a large group of professors, including:
– Dr. Yasser Zaghloul, Professor of Structure Analysis at Al-Shorouk Academy.
– Dr. Nabil Mansour, Professor of Metal Structures from Badr University.
– Dr. Khaled Fawzy, Deputy Director of Al-Obour Institute and Head of the Civil Engineering Department.
– Dr. Walid Abdullah from Helwan University.
– Dr. Osama Hassan from Al-Obour Institute.
– Dr. Mohamed Gado from Sinai University.
– Dr. Ayman Shams El-Din from the University of Hertfordshire.
– Engineer. Aya Omar, Assistant Lecturer at Al-Shorouk Academy.
– Engineer. Mohamed Soliman, Sinai University.
– Engineer. Rowan Abdel Latif from the University of Hertfordshire.
It is worth mentioning that Dr Mohamed Rabah head of “the New Vision Scientific Activity Club” contributed to organizing the competition from the beginning of registering the teams and responding to inquiries, in addition to organizing the competition day in a way that won the admiration of all attendees.
