Dr. Tahira El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business Technology at the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the ‘Department of Political Science’ organized an educational and training visit for the faculty’s students. A delegation comprising 41 students and 5 faculty members and assistants visited the headquarters of the Arab League in Tahrir Square. She indicated that such activities aim to foster cooperation and build partnerships with prestigious global and regional institutions, broaden students’ horizons, and equip them with knowledge. The visit was supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, and sponsored by Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, University President.
The Dean of the Faculty explained that the delegation was welcomed by the Department of Training and the Department of Arab-Asian Relations within the ‘Political Sector.’ She noted that the visit was divided into three parts. The first part included a seminar on the history of the Arab League from its foundation to the present day, highlighting the League’s role in major Arab issues. Discussions and questions about the League’s role followed, with active engagement from the students.
Dr. Tahira El-Sayed noted that the second part of the visit’s program began with a lecture on Arab-Russian relations, delivered by Ambassador Malek Mousli, Director of the Gulf and Yemen Department in the Arab and National Security Affairs Sector. The lecture focused on the historical relations between the two sides, starting from the liberation period, through the initiation of diplomatic representation and trade relations, Russia’s role in the October 6 War, support for Arab development, and the establishment of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Ministerial Forum. A discussion with the students on this topic followed.
The Dean added that the visit concluded with a tour of the Arab League headquarters, which included the main hall where the League’s high-level ‘ministerial and presidential’ meetings are held and the Arab League Library, one of the oldest libraries. A commemorative photo was taken in the League’s outdoor courtyard overlooking Tahrir Square.
Dr. Ahmed El-Basousy, who is in charge of the Head of the Political Science Department at the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business Technology at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that the visit concluded with an invitation to hold an educational seminar at the ‘Egyptian Russian University’ headquarters in Badr City, Cairo Governorate, about Arab-Russian relations.
