The Department of Biochemistry organized, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gamil Abdullah – Vice Dean of the College & Dr. Ghadeer Ali – Lecturer in the department in cooperation with a group of professors and researchers: Dr. Mohamed Islam Abdel-Hay, researcher in the Department of Clinical Genetics, Dr. Rana Mahrous Ali Mahmoud, researcher in the Department of Human Cellular Genetics, Prof. Dr. Ghada Mohamed Shehata, Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Enzymes, Dr. Nora Raafat Mahmoud, researcher in the Department of Medical Molecular Genetics, Prof. Dr. Taghreed Shalaby, Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Fetal Medicine and Diagnosis, Prof. Dr. Nahal Farouk, Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Oral and Dental Genetics, Dr. Azza El-Zaghbi Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Caravans Committee at the Institute of Human Genetics and Genome Research on October 19, 2023 in the University Theater, in the presence of a group of faculty members and students from various faculties of the university, to organize activities. An awareness seminar was held under the title “Genetic Diseases Resulting from Consanguineous Marriage and Its Impact on the Individual and Society”. The researchers also discussed some diseases Genetic disorders prevalent among children in our Egyptian society resulting from the phenomenon of consanguineous marriage
