Some of the activities of "We Complete Each Other" Event for fourth successive year at the Egyptian Russian University

In order to promote the values of solidarity and mutual support among the community members, in a special ceremonial atmosphere, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, the Egyptian Russian University (ERU) organized an event entitled “We Complete Each Other” for the fourth year in a row. A large number of volunteers from the university students, members of the Student Union, faculty members, as well as supporting staff members from all faculties of the ERU participated in the event. Fifty children, boys and girls, from orphanages were hosted to spend a day at the university, bringing joy and happiness to their hearts.

The event program included entertainment sections, a puppet show to bring happiness and delight to the children’s hearts, in addition to awareness-raising sessions presented by students of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine on how to care for oral and dental hygiene. They also presented gifts to the attendants and children in the form of toothpaste and drawing / coloring books.

The Faculty of Al-Alsun (Languages), in addition, took part in the event by delivering a poem titled “Knights of Will,” which was recited by a student from the faculty. The Faculty of Pharmacy also participated by presenting gifts to the children, including shampoo, hair serum, and moisturizing cream, which the faculty specially made for the children using natural ingredients. Representatives from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence organized a general knowledge competition for the children and presented to them certificates of appreciation and medals. A visit was then organized for the children to the Faculty of Applied Arts. They were received there by the faculty members and students and were taken on a tour inside the faculty.

The event was concluded with the children’s visit to the Faculty of Fine Arts. They were welcomed there in a delightful ceremonial atmosphere. They also visited the faculty’s pottery workshops, where, under the supervision of faculty members, they made beautiful clay shapes with their own hands, channeling their energies into useful fun. Students from the Faculty of Fine Arts also painted the children’s faces, bringing even more joy to their hearts.

At the end of the day, some simple souvenirs were distributed, expressing hope to meet again with these children and that such visits will be repeated, as they help improve the psychological state of these children, who are an integral part of the fabric of society, and lift up their morale. These visits, at the same time, also help reinforce a sense of responsibility toward others among the university students.

It is worthy to appreciate the efforts of everyone who seriously participated in carrying out the day’s activities in a good manner and brought joy to the children on this day, namely, the volunteers from the faculties’ students, the university’s Student Union members, the students in preparatory year at the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the students of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Scientific Federation at the Faculty of Pharmacy (EPSF-ERU).
