As part of the Russian-Egyptian University’s ongoing efforts, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ihab Fatouh – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the third-year Clinical Pharmacy students organized an awareness campaign entitled
“Together to Reduce the Spread of Viruses and Parasites”
under the slogan “Invisible Threats, Real Risks”,
supervised by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee of the faculty.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the most common viruses in Egypt and foodborne parasites, with a focus on basic health prevention practices that help limit the spread of infections within the community.

The campaign included awareness activities inside and outside the university during
International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) (October 19–25),
an annual event held during the third week of October as part of global efforts to raise awareness about infection prevention and control among community members.

A total of 240 third-year students participated in organizing and conducting the campaign’s various awareness activities inside and outside the university.
Their efforts have continued since the following week through ongoing online awareness activities shared regularly via the campaign’s Facebook page, and are still ongoing to date.

Activities included a series of interactive events and educational flyers designed to convey health information in a simple and clear manner.

The campaign also featured an online awareness component through short videos shared across digital platforms, aiming to reach a wide audience using a modern approach that aligns with contemporary communication methods and enhances the dissemination of health messages.

The campaign witnessed high participation and engagement from students, faculty members, and the local community, reflecting the responsibility and awareness of the Faculty of Pharmacy students toward society.

This campaign continues the ongoing efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Russian-Egyptian University to support public health and promote community awareness.
