The Egyptian-Russian University's Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine Organizes a Medical convoy and Treatment Day for students in Badr City...
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel-Nabi, President of the Egyptian-Russian University, announced that the university’s Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine organized a free medical convoy and treatment day for students of the Field Marshal Ahmed Ismail School for Intellectual Education (for students with special needs) in Badr City. This initiative falls within the university’s role and responsibilities in serving the community and the surrounding environment. He noted that the convoy was fully supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and in cooperation with Mr. Ahmed Mahmoud, Director of the Educational Administration in Badr and Capital Gardens Cities.
In the same context, Dr. Khaled Tawfik, Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at the Egyptian-Russian University, explained that the first phase of the medical convoy was organized with the assistance of faculty members and resident physicians for students at the Field Marshal Ahmed Ismail School for Intellectual Education (for students with special needs) in Badr City. The second phase included organizing a treatment day at the college’s model clinics to examine students and provide treatment for those suffering from oral and dental problems. He noted that (37) male and female students were examined and treated, and a number of these cases were referred to the college clinics to complete the necessary treatment and follow-up care.
The Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at the Egyptian-Russian University indicated that students were educated about the importance of maintaining oral and dental health and the correct methods of cleaning the mouth and teeth to prevent the spread of infection among students at school. He added that the university administration provided transportation for students from the school to the model clinics at the college for their examinations during the “Treatment Day” at the university.
Dr. Khaled Tawfik confirmed that students who require further treatment in the coming period and who need general anesthesia due to their special circumstances will be followed up under the supervision of faculty members and teaching assistants in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, or in cooperation with the Association of Pediatric Dentistry for People with Special Needs, either at a nominal fee or free of charge.
For her part, Dr. Nourhan El-Dokky, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Egyptian-Russian University, stated that appropriate treatment was provided to students, their teachers, and their parents. Teachers and parents were informed of follow-up appointments for those requiring further treatment at the Faculty’s Pediatric Dentistry Department, and a special care program was developed for them until their full recovery.
The Vice Dean added that this medical convoy is part of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine’s role in community participation and effective community service, providing medical and awareness services to the community surrounding the university. She expressed her gratitude to the support of staff of the Pediatric Dentistry Department, the resident dentists, and Mr. Ahmed Tobar, Director of the Field Marshal Ahmed Ismail School for Intellectual Education (Special Needs) in Badr City, for their assistance in ensuring the convoy’s success.
