The distinguished student, Marly Magdy, in the first year of engineering at the university, has qualified for the regional level (North Africa) in Huawei ICT Competition. This was out of only 100 people chosen nationwide to represent Egypt in all fields of the competition …  He highlighted that the competition aims at qualifying and empowering Egyptian youth, in addition to providing them with modern skills in the areas of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, networks, and communications. The competitions are based on finding smart solutions through employing information and communication technologies.

This is an academic achievement which reflects the integration of the excellence system within the university at both levels of students and faculty members. He stated that these successes encourage the university to continue its approach towards motivating its students and faculty members to participate in various forums, at both local and international levels. The purpose of this participation is to develop creative thinking skills, instill a spirit of innovation, keep pace with all scientific developments, and move towards expanding self-learning methods, instead of being satisfied with traditional learning methods in education, and to work on their integration with advanced technology.

On his part, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Lecturer in the Department of Communications at the Faculty of Engineering and the Executive Director of Huawei Academy at the ERU, explained that these successes are a result of the continuous support and ambitious vision of the university administration, which is always keen to provide all means of support and opportunities, which empower the students to compete at the regional and international levels. This is also out of the university’s belief in the importance of investing in young minds and empowering them with modern technological tools. He pinpointed that the student Marly Magdy, who is in the first (preparatory) year at the Faculty of Engineering at the university, qualified for the regional level (North Africa) in Huawei ICT Competition, and that if she wins in the North Africa preliminary rounds, she will be promoted to the final round in China.
