Listening to the City Introductory and Analytical Workshop on Soundscape Patterns within City’s Urban Public Spaces.

Explore how sound shapes users’ experience and perception of public spaces in the city.

This workshop addresses the concept of urban soundscape as a fundamental sensory component of the human experience within public spaces. It focuses on studying soundscape patterns in city squares, parks, and streets by analyzing various sound sources: natural, human, and mechanical, and how they interact with the urban fabric and social activities.

The workshop aims to equip students with methodological tools to understand and analyze the acoustic environment through the application of field observation, documentation, and spatial analysis of soundscape patterns. It also seeks to raise awareness of the role of urban design in shaping balanced acoustic environments, contributing to improved quality of public spaces and user comfort.
