A cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Russian University and the Leather City .

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, and Dr. Ezz El Din Abdel Aziz Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, welcomed a delegation from the Board of Trustees of the Leather City headed by Mr. Mustafa Hussein Abdel Khaleq to sign the joint cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Russian University, the Faculty of Applied Arts, and the Board of Trustees of the Leather City. This cooperation desires to achieve the societal and service role of the university in the fields of industry, and to encourage the establishment of alliances between higher education institutions and productive and industrial institutions aiming to achieve effective integration between the elements of the higher education system and production institutions and to link scientific research with industrial production. The Faculty of Applied Arts has an academic and research link to the leather industry and the capability to solve problems related to innovations in designing leather products and developing production and marketing processes, which allows it to contribute to the advancement of this important industry.
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that signing the joint cooperation protocol shall contribute to solving the problems of the production stages, whether tanning or manufacturing leather products due to the presence of the appropriate environment within the faculties from laboratories, production workshops, and qualified cadres in several areas such as tanning technology, manufacturing and maintenance of equipment, programming, designing leather products and feasibility studies and marketing which contribute to the advancement of this important industry. In addition, there is the possibility of coordination and cooperation at all stages, starting from developing the idea and preparing the design, to the stage of implementation and scientific application. He noted that that the protocol was preceded by many field visits by Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel-Aziz Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, to get acquainted with this industry and determine its requirements to solve its problems.
Moreover, Mr. Mustafa Hussein, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Leather City in Al-Roubaiky, illustrated that signing the protocol with the university will contribute to reducing production costs and solve many problems and obstacles that happen during the stages of tanning and the leather industry in Egypt, especially in the fields of: leather tanning chemistry, designing and shaping molds for leather printing, designing and formulating color pigments, providing innovative designs for leather products in line with the latest international fashion trends, maintaining and repairing production lines in leather city factories, providing engineering spare parts and programming areas and analyzing samples and matching them to international specifications required in European and Asian countries.
Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel-Aziz Hassan confirmed that the faculty will contribute as a scientific, technical and applied institution in providing and presenting functional and technical innovations in the fields of designing and implementing the requirements of the leather industry in the Leather City in Rubiki, including:
– Designing color pigment formulations in terms of color and tone, in accordance with international standards.
– Designing and implementing the first sample of innovative designs in various leather goods fields.
– Designing modern artistic formations for leather printing stamps.
– Training courses for faculty students, technicians and professionals in Leather City factories.
– Providing scientific, technical, applied research consultations.
– Establishing study and training programs for this strategic specialization in the faculty to develop the industry and to reach a fully manufactured product that competes with global markets according to the country’s vision until 2030.

Eng. Khaled Mostafeh, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Leather City in Al-Roubaiky, expressed his joy at signing the protocol with the Egyptian Russian University. This protocol will contribute, in the near term, to solving many problems of the stages of the leather industry and tanning, within the framework of the Board of Trustees’ plan to build professional and technical cadres to develop and rais the efficiency of workers inside the leather city. He pointed out that the purpose of this protocol is to conduct training courses and study programs in this strategic specialization to develop the industry to reach a fully manufactured product that competes in the global markets according to the country’s vision in the year (2030).
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Sherif Fakhry Abdel Nabi presented the University Shield to the Mr. Mostafa Hussein Abdel-Khalek, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Leather City in Rubiki, to honor him for his efforts and what he presented during his career in the fields of tanning and leather industry, and for being an icon of success and an example to follow among manufacturers and exporters at the level of Egypt.
