Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university will hold training courses and workshops targeting beneficiaries in society. This effort aims to enhance cooperation between the university and industry, allowing both parties to identify their capabilities in the fields of technologies and specialized expertise. This cooperation contributes to concluding new partnerships that include providing scientific industrial consultations, conducting specialized analyses, and working together on applied research projects of interest to both sides. In this context, cooperation was recently established between the University’s Center for Excellence and Innovation Research and Apex Pharma, where a workshop was held for the company’s administrators entitled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Administrative Tasks and Human Resources”. The university president indicated that the workshop aims to improve the performance of the administrative structure of the Apex Pharma team, which contributes to reducing the time and effort required. These courses are a model for the services provided by the university to the community, and the workshop was sponsored by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
In this context, Dr. Essam Khamis, Advisor to the President of the Egyptian Russian University for Academic Development, explained that the workshop aimed to enable administrators at Apex Pharma to benefit from the latest artificial intelligence technologies in their fields. He pointed out that artificial intelligence contributes to completing routine tasks, allowing administrators to focus on strategic and more important tasks. It also provides advanced analysis tools that help make informed decisions, which contributes to organizing tasks and managing time more effectively, thus enhancing efficiency and increasing productivity, which positively reflects on the company’s overall performance.
Dr. Khamis added that the university hopes that this experience has added real value to the knowledge and skills of the trainees at the company, and expressed the university’s enthusiasm to see how these modern technologies can make a real difference in work environments, and looks forward to fruitful results from the training workshop. He stressed that the trainees’ participation in this initiative reflects Apex Pharma’s firm commitment to enhancing training and continuous development, noting that the number of participants in the workshop reached sixteen trainees. For his part, Dr. Magdy Elba, Chairman of Apex Pharma and former Chairman of the Chamber of Pharmaceutical Industry, confirmed that the company is one of the leading companies in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt and works to enhance internal development by taking advantage of technological developments in Egyptian universities. This strategy contributes to improving employee skills and applying technology practically in the company’s areas of work. He added that our partnership with the “Egyptian Russian University” reflects our shared vision for a better future in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing and development and healthcare. He stressed that the company’s management believes that this cooperation will greatly contribute to developing the efficiency of administrators and enhancing the company’s performance; which will benefit society as a whole, with aspirations for more fruitful cooperation in the future.
Dr. Magdy Elba pointed out that “Apex Pharma” ranked ninth among more than 1,200 pharmaceutical companies operating in Egypt, in record time since its establishment. The company provides a wide range of medicines that occupy advanced positions in their therapeutic categories, which contributes to improving the quality of life of patients and society in areas such as psychiatry and neurology, heart disease and diabetes, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, dermatology, and male diseases. He also stressed the company’s keenness to provide a pioneering model in the therapeutic sectors in which it operates, whether locally or regionally. He pointed out that the company seeks to expand regionally by establishing an advanced factory in King Abdullah Economic City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is considered the first Egyptian pharmaceutical factory in the Kingdom, and has obtained a license from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Ehab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that he visited the company in 2004 before its official opening in 2005 and saw the latest advanced new equipment in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing and was optimistic about the company’s future in contributing to the advancement of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt and the Middle East. The college is also pleased to send distinguished students to the company to spend the training period and benefit from the scientific and technical expertise, skills and competencies necessary for the pharmacy profession.
In the same context, Dr. Hesham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that the college organized a workshop designed specifically for the company under the supervision of Dr. Wael Badawy, Head of the Data Science Department. This workshop came in response to Apex Pharma’s request, titled “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Administrative Tasks and Human Resources”. The workshop was held during the period from August 24 to September 4, 2024, and included lectures on Saturdays every week for six hours, for a total of 18 training hours.
The impact of the training course was discussed and evaluated in a meeting at the university with the participation of: Dr. Shehata Mohamed Gharib, Advisor to the President of the University for Institutional Development Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Ehab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Hanaa Abdel Rahman, Advisor to the President of the University for Student Activities, in addition to a number of leaders of the “Apex Pharma” company.
