Details of Interdisciplinary Studies Sector Committee Meeting at Egyptian Russian University Headquarters… photos
Dr. Sherif Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that the seventh meeting of the Interdisciplinary Studies Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities for the round (2025-2028) was held in September 2025 at the university headquarters. The meeting was headed by Dr. Essam Khamis Ibrahim, the Committee Chairman, with the secretariat of Dr. Mohamed Saleheen, the Committee Secretary.
As the new academic year started, Dr. Essam Khamis Ibrahim, Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Studies Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the members, calling upon Allah Almighty to make the new year a fruitful one, filled with accomplishments, and crowned with success and excellence.
The Committee Chairman expressed his deep gratitude to Dr. Sherif Fakhry, ERU President, for his kind invitation, warm welcome, and generous hospitality, which was embodied in hosting the committee’s activities in the University Council Hall. In addition, he extended his sincere wishes to the esteemed university, its president, and its faculty members for continued progress and prosperity, asking God Almighty to grant it further pioneering and growth.
Dr. Essam Khamis Ibrahim congratulated the committee members for their outstanding achievements, which are as follows:
- Dr. Mohamed Saleheen, on his appointment as Acting Vice President of Ain Shams University.
- Dr. Mohamed Ismail Abdu, on receiving the Pioneers Award from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
- Dr. Essam Khamis and Dr. Mokhtar Youssef, on the occasion of having their names enlisted among the top 2% of scientists in the Stanford University World Rankings for 2025.
The Committee Chairman wished them all continued success and ongoing progress and dedication in serving universities and the academic community.
The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of professors, scholars, and experts representing various faculties of Egyptian public and private universities and industry. Their valuable contributions as well as their scientific and critical insights enriched the discussion and the exchange of ideas, in addition to formulating future attitudes towards developing the Interdisciplinary Studies Sector.
For their part, the committee members expressed their final approval on the proposed controls and mechanisms for the terms of reference for the Interdisciplinary Studies Sector Committee, for both undergraduate and graduate studies. They also reviewed the model report for reviewing program proposals submitted to the committee, in light of the approved work mechanisms.
At the meeting conclusion, the committee moved on to discuss the topics on its agenda which were related to the interdisciplinary regulations submitted by Egyptian public and private universities, in preparation for making the necessary recommendations and decisions.
