During the University Youth Week, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Mechatronics at the Egyptian Russian University wins first place at the university level..

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the students of the department of “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” in the University’s Faculty of Engineering won the first place in the scientific and technological activity and the award for the best mechatronics device in the 13th Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes Youth Week, which was held this year at the headquarters of Helwan University, under the slogan “The New Republic is a Dream of a Homeland,” and in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research… noting that the participation came with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University Council, due to his keenness to support all types of student activities inside and outside the university campus, in a way that contributes to encouraging students to compete fairly with students of other universities and exchange knowledge and experiences, to be an incentive for continued excellence and success.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University explained that the students of the Department of “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” in the University’s Faculty of Engineering deservedly won first place out of 30 “governmental and private universities, and higher institutes,” with the participation of thousands of students in the University Youth Week. He pointing out that the university administration is keen to motivate students to participate in various events and competitions for their role in developing their skills and refining their talents, praising the level of participating students, their dedication, and their achievement of this well-deserved victory wishing all university students excellence in various “scientific, research, and sports disciplines”. His Excellency also sent his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the students of the university who honored it, hoping to always stand on the podiums of coronation and honor in all “local, regional, and international” forums.

In the same context, Dr. Alaa Mohamed Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that the device designed by students of the “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” Department at the University’s Faculty of Engineering and which won first place in Youth Week is a “robot submarine” designed to perform some underwater tasks, such as marine exploration and fish farm work, using “artificial intelligence” and remote control techniques. He explained that the “robotic submarine” was designed by students, and under the supervision of: “Dr. Ibrahim Mossad, Head of the “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” Department, and Dr. Magdy Raouf Assistant professor in the department, and engineer Assem Reda, teaching assistant in the same department.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University stated that obtaining this award at the level of engineering faculties in Egyptian universities comes as a result of the university’s keenness to implement its strategy in the field of developing students’ digital and applied skills and raising their capabilities with the aim of empowering them with modern technology and serving the growing demand for these skills in the local, regional, and global labor market. As well as great interest in student projects with the aim of stimulating creativity, spreading the culture of innovation, transferring knowledge, acquiring and transferring skills among them, and localizing their entrepreneurial thinking.

Dr. Alaa Mohamed Al-Batsh said that student projects contribute to finding innovative solutions to the challenges existing in society and contribute to sustainable development.
