Egyptian-Russian University Engineering Students Present Outstanding Graduation Projects...
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel-Nabi, President of the Egyptian-Russian University, announced that the university’s Faculty of Engineering discussed student graduation projects at the end of the first semester of the academic year (2025-2026) in (3) distinguished programs that meet the needs of the local and international market. These programs are: “Communications Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, and Construction Engineering”; It is worth noting that the architectural engineering program projects are discussed at the end of the second semester. These projects are sponsored by Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
The President of the Egyptian-Russian University explained that student projects, in addition to being part of the graduation requirements for the Faculty of Engineering, are implemented within the framework of the university’s vision to enable students to move from theoretical knowledge to practical application. This ensures they are equipped with the necessary technical and professional skills for employment and entrepreneurship, preparing them as qualified personnel to join the labor market and meet the demands of national projects. Furthermore, these projects foster scientific exchange within the university between faculty members and students, and provide an opportunity for practical application of the university’s infrastructure.
In the same context, Dr. Alaa Mohamed El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University, indicated that the students excelled in their projects by implementing a range of innovative ideas and presenting smart, advanced engineering solutions to some social problems. This enhances the efficiency of many industrial processes and makes them more sustainable. He pointed out that the discussion committees included a selected group of professors from various Egyptian universities, along with leading figures and specialists from the labor market and faculty members.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian-Russian University added that the projects of the Construction Engineering Department, headed by Dr. Fatma Shaltout, included the fields of: “Project Management, Road Engineering, Materials Properties, Concrete Structures, and Steel Structures.” He revealed that students of the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Department, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Mosaad, submitted several projects, including:
1- Design and construction of a smart surveillance balloon.
2- Design and control of a multi-directional mobile robot.
3- A self-driving forklift for intelligent platform detection and guidance using computer vision and integrated control systems.
4- Design and implementation of an automated coal-fired furnace.
5- A Mecanum wheeled mobile robot.
6- A hybrid car.
Dr. Alaa Mohamed El-Batsh stated that the students’ projects confirm the commitment of the Faculty of Engineering administration to providing engineering education that keeps pace with technological developments and supports sustainable development in Egypt. He explained that in the Communications Engineering Department, headed by Dr. Shaimaa Mustafa, the projects were diverse, including:
1- A project entitled: “An AI-Enhanced Bluetooth Tracking System for Student Attendance and Predictive Analytics.
2. Project titled: “Application of Digital Twin Capabilities for Automated Systems”
3. Project titled: “Smart Performance Monitoring for 5G Mobile Communication Systems Using Predictive Analytics”
The judging panels praised the high quality of this year’s projects, emphasizing that they demonstrated the students’ ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical skills gained from field training in factories and large companies.
