Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry Abd Elnabi, president of the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo announced that the student Ahmed Mohamed Abu- Elmagd from the Faculty of Engineering at the university achieved the first rank and the gold medal in the “track and field “ for the long jump and 100 – meter hurdles. The student won the second rank and the silver medal in the “high jump” competition in the “Fifth Sector Championship” as part of the activities of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation Competitions for the academic year (2021-2022) which was held recently on the campus of the “American University” in New Cairo at the “Fifth Settlement”.
The president of the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo added that the student Yasmin Mohamed Thabet, who is enrolled in the Faculty of Management, Economics, and Business Technology at the university, participated in the “sports of speedball” singles for female students in the same tournament, and won the third rank and the bronze medal. Noting that the tournament included professional players from several universities, and university students were able to obtain those positions and medals amid the participation of more than 200 students from 12 participating universities in the tournament.
In the same context, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Russian University, Ikram Mohamed affirmed that the competitions in the various matches were strong, and the university students achieved advanced positions in the championship. This is due to the good preparation of college students before the start of the tournament. She also added that the participation in these tournaments comes within the framework of the Egyptian Russian University’s interest in student activities; To encourage and develop students’ talents and absorb their energies in line with their inclinations and desires; And to build a university generation that practices sports and the protection of health.
Prof. Dr. Hanaa Abd- Elrahman, the head of the student activities at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that the university administration is keen to support all kinds of student activities inside and outside the university campus, which contributes to fueling fair competition, which has the greatest impact in strengthening the spirit of competition as well as intensifying ties and relations. She also praised the honorable appearance and the distinguished level of the university students, and the high spirit that characterized their performance throughout the days of the championship until they were able to get those advanced positions.
