Entrepreneurship Club at the Egyptian Russian University

The Entrepreneurship Club is a dynamic and enthusiastic working group in which a number of students, faculty members, researchers, university staff and entrepreneurs participate to spread the culture of entrepreneurship throughout the university campus and the Egyptian community.
The Entrepreneurship Club at the Egyptian Russian University is expected to be one of the most prominent entrepreneurship clubs in educational and research institutions in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Training and empowering young people and encouraging them to engage in entrepreneurial work, engage in society, and develop the skills necessary to succeed as entrepreneurs, by communicating with entrepreneurship experts to provide opportunities for learning and innovation in partnership with beneficiary entities, and developing professional expertise related to the field of entrepreneurship.
The club aims to provide mechanisms that enable young people to become entrepreneurs, and to provide assistance to communicate and share ideas with entrepreneurial experts in all specialties. The club also aims to clarify the concept of new and small business entrepreneurship.
Localizing and disseminating the culture of entrepreneurship at the Egyptian Russian University and helping to support the needs of entrepreneurs through members’ cooperation with their counterparts and national companies. Membership is available to all students, graduates, community members, researchers, faculty members, and university employees interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Club activities

It is expected that the number of activities offered by the club will not be less than 14 activities during the academic year. The club’s activities are an excellent opportunity to communicate and form a pioneer team. Among these activities we mention the following:

1. Establishing an entrepreneurship club family of students, faculty members, and administrative staff at the university. (Already done)

2. Forming assistance committees such as (organization, social media coverage, visual, audio and print media, internal tasks, public relations).

3. Holding a series of public lectures, workshops, and training camps to introduce the following:

4. Inviting distinguished public figures and pioneers in the field of establishing and managing startups and entrepreneurship to give lectures at the university and in the (distance entrepreneurship) system every semester to motivate and guide young people.

5. Providing participation in various activities and conferences throughout the country.
6. Establishing partnerships with a number of relevant local institutions, such as the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, “Your Idea is Your Company”, the General Authority for Investment, Pioneers 2030, and Pioneers of the Nile. As well as with international institutions such as the Wadhwani International Foundation, which works in the field of entrepreneurship.

7. Establishing four Ideation camps annually. The camp includes an idea generation stage in the fields to encourage students and graduates of these sectors to innovate and work independently.

8. Holding 4 work camps for training on Design Thinking every year. The camp includes the Design Thinking phase generated from (Ideation Camp).

9. Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event, during which the Entrepreneur Club presents ideas for new startup companies, forms teams to study these ideas, works on developing a prototype of the business and then presents it for discussion, and holds 4 Startup Weekend competitions and enables those with the winning business models to form startup companies.

10. Enabling 5 teams to apply to one of the technology incubators annually to implement their ideas.

On Sunday 12/18/2022, the ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Wafa Abdel Rashid – Executive Director of the Taiko offices and entrepreneurship clubs at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, university leaders, deans, a large group of students from various university colleges, faculty members, assistant staff, and administrators.
