ERU Faculty of Engineering organizes the "Best Bridge Design" Competition..photos .
President of the Egyptian Russian University, Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, announced that the Faculty of Engineering at the university organized a competition entitled “Best Bridge Model” BBM “, in its first edition, which is about presenting the best structural model of a bridge made of wooden sticks. He pointed out that this competition comes within the framework of encouraging “research and innovation”, linking theoretical study to practical application, motivating students to work within a team, and of creating a competitive environment among them to find innovative solutions for real challenges. Such competition is supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. In the same context, Dr. Alaa Muhammad Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that the “BBM” competition was supervised by: “Dr. Fatima Shaltout, Head of the Department of Construction Engineering, and Dr. Muhammad Rabah, Coordinator and General Supervisor of the Competition. Nine teams of students participated in the competition under the titles: “Unique – Pharaohs – Black stars – YM3 – The Eagles – CCC – Pioneers – Infinity – Vimisur. They competed with one another to provide the best and strongest bridge. The winner in the competition will be the bridge that is able to bear the largest weights during the test.The Faculty of Engineering dean at the Egyptian Russian University added that the models were evaluated by the referee’s committee composed of some faculty members, namely: Dr. Omnia Farouk, Dr. Safinaz Khalifa, Dr. Ali Al-Rifai, and Dr. Ghada Gamal”… explaining that the winning three teams were: The First: The Vimisur team The Second: The Eagles teamThe Third: The YM3 team. The awards were handed out to the winning teams in the presence of a large number of faculty members, TAs, and students from various departments.The competition activities were attended by Dr. Ehab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Tahira El-Sayed, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Economics and Information Technology, Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel Aziz, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Orabi, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, and Dr. Hossam Nazmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts.
