ERU Graduate honoured by the Minister of Communications… Photos

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Mr. Jim Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt, honored “Engineer Mustafa Tarek Youssef”, a graduate of ERU Faculty of Engineering, Department of Communication Engineering. Engineer Mustafa Tarek and his team ranked third Huawei world competition for the past year (2022). Eru president indicated that engineer Mustafa Tariq and his team won the third place in the world after competing with (130) teams from (43) countries in the finals of Huawei International Competition for Information and Communication Technology for the year (2021-2022), which was held in Beijing, the capital  of China.

 

His Excellency indicated that this achievement is a culmination of the university’s endeavor to raise and enhance the efficiency of young cadres, and also a result of the fruitful cooperation with Huawei, a world leader in the field of information and communication technology, which provides accredited training courses for university students to acquire technological knowledge delivered by high-level international experts.

 

In the same context, Dr. Alaa Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that Eng. Mustafa Tariq Youssef is one of the talented people in the field of communication and information technology, and that he was chosen during his undergraduate studies among (2000) contestants from all universities. Candidates competed to participate in this competition, he and his team, consisting of (3) students, were highly qualified in the field of “Cloud”. They represented “Egypt” in the finals  in “Beijing” and ranked the third in the world.For his part, Dr. Hisham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and General Supervisor of  Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, added that participation in the competition came within the framework of the university’s keenness to discover and nurture local talents in the field of “information and communication technology” in order to refine their skills and to prepare them for leading the technical future, achieving digital transformation plans and setting strategies that rely on information technology. He explained that the university administration had signed a cooperation protocol with “Huawei Company” during the year (2021), through which it established the “Huawei Academy” on campus to be among the first universities to cooperate with the company in academic activities. Such cooperation has several benefits for students studying information systems in the university.In the same context, Dr. Tamer Saleh, an Assistant Prof. at the Communications Department, Faculty of Engineering and the executive director of the Huawei Academy at the university, pointed out that students’ participation in these technical competitions worldwide comes within the framework of the university’s and the academy’s interest in encouraging and developing students’ and graduates’ talents. He also Noted that the aim of establishing the academy is to qualify them to participate in international competitions, transfer technological knowledge to them, and to train ERU students and graduates, as well as students and graduates of other universities and institutes, by experts from Huawei in order to obtain accredited certificates from a credible authority that is recognized in the regional and international labor market.
