Fine Arts at Egyptian Russian University organizes "Art for All" Exhibition ... photos

 

     Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abd-el-Naby, President of the Egyptian Russian University (ERU), announced that the Creative Interaction Center at the University’s Faculty of Fine Arts organized a distinguished art exhibition. Under the title “Art for All,” the exhibition featured a selection of masterpieces by the faculty’s most promising students, which included works in the areas of sculpture, photography, ceramics, and art printmaking. Dr. Sherif pinpointed that the exhibition was held with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

     Dr. Mohamed Oraby, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the ERU, explained that 40 outstanding students from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the university participated in the exhibition. The exhibition included: “13 oil paintings, 6 statues made of iron, more than 50 ceramic pieces, 8 mosaic works, 12 photographs, and 6 collage works…” Dr. Oraby stated that the exhibition remained open to the public for two weeks, and that it serves as a platform to showcase the students’ artistic talents and that it also contributed to reinforcing the cultural dialogue and the exchange of creative artistic experiences.

     The Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the ERU added that the guest of honor at the exhibition was the great artist Adel Kebedah. The exhibition also coincided with a regional engraving and printing workshop presented by the distinguished Jordanian artist Hakim Jama’een, with the participation of prominent artistic figures, including the Bahraini artist Duwaya Al-Alaweyat, Artist / Dr. Magda Sayed, and Artist / Inas Al-Gohary.

     Dr. Mohamed Oraby emphasized that the exhibition aimed at achieving the following objectives:

– Empowering the students by marketing their artworks and showcasing them to the public and institutions, opening up before them career prospects and future opportunities.

– Developing the students’ creative skills and supporting their artistic and innovative sense by showcasing their artistic works in various fields, which would contribute to developing their capacities and honing their talents.

– Reinforcing community interaction for achieving effective communication between the faculty and the community by creating an inclusive artistic environment which supports community participation and cultural openness.

– Caring for young artistic talents, in addition to discovering talented students, and providing them with the opportunity to express themselves artistically, while motivating them to continue and develop.

– Conveying technical expertise from professionals through the art workshops accompanying the exhibition, benefiting from the experiences of professional artists and exchanging expertise, which deepens the students’ practical knowledge.

     On their part, the attendees including public figures and leaders of higher education and scientific research paid tribute to the importance of reinforcing the role of higher education institutions in spreading cultural and artistic awareness among various community categories and linking them to sports and engineering institutions.

     At the conclusion of the “Art for All” Exhibition, honorary shields were exchanged between the Egyptian Russian University and Al-Ahly Club. This exchange took place in appreciation of the distinguished relations between the two sides, and in recognition of the pioneering role played by both institutions in supporting the arts and encouraging creativity and youth talents.

     The exhibition was attended by prominent figures, including: Dr. Essam Khamis, Advisor to the ERU President for Academic Development, Dr. Shehata Ghareeb, Advisor to the University for Institutional Development, Dr. Khaled Tawfik, Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Dr. Hanaa Abd-el-Rahman, Advisor to the ERU President for Student Activities, Brigadier General / Ahmed Ehab Al-Nahhas, Director of Al-Ahly Club, Fifth Settlement Branch, Ziad Al-Shazly, Public Relations Manager at Talaat Moustafa Group, and Accountant / Tarek Belal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the MOE Administration in Badr and Shorouk Cities.
