Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the Huawei Academy on campus ranked second among academies across Egyptian private universities and institutes in Huawei’s annual Academies Evaluation. He noted that the university’s achievement stems from the academy’s distinguished activities aimed at developing students’ technical skills and building a trained and qualified cadre in the field of information technology, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 in the field of digital transformation. This achievement is supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
The President of the Egyptian Russian University explained that Huawei International honored student Mustafa Anwar from the Faculty of Engineering at the university by selecting him as the Ambassador of the Year for Information and Communication Technology for the year (2024) and receiving the cup and gold medal, among more than (120) academies across Egypt, with the participation of more than (40) male and female students. He pointed out that Dr. Tamer Saleh, Director of the Huawei Academy at the university, also received the award for Best Executive Director across Huawei Academies in all Egyptian universities and institutes.
In the same context, Dr. Hesham Fathy, Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence and General Supervisor of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that among the many awards received by the university’s Huawei Academy this year was the selection of Dr. Tamer Saleh as one of the (5) most prominent trainers nationwide. He revealed that the participation of students and faculty members from the university’s faculties in the Huawei Global Competition and the winning of awards and medals contributes to the development of technical skills and the acquisition of valuable experience for university members, and to the building of trained and qualified cadres in the field of technology capable of managing facilities (academic, industrial, commercial, governmental, and private) after graduation.
The Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence and General Supervisor of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that honoring student Mustafa Anwar from the Faculty of Engineering by selecting him as “Ambassador of the Year for Information and Communications Technology 2024” is the highest honor given to the best ambassador at the level of universities, institutes, and academies in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in spreading technological awareness within and outside the university.
Dr. Hesham Fathy stated that the Academy Director and Ambassador were officially honored at the fourth Huawei conference by Du Yong, Vice President of Huawei Egypt; Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of the National Telecommunications Institute at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Dr. Sherif Keshk, Assistant of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Digital Transformation; and Eng. Asmaa Serag, Director of Huawei Academies Egypt.
For his part, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Lecturer in the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that student Mustafa Tarek, from the Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering, is one of the university’s talented students in the field of information and communications technology. He is considered the founder of the Huawei Student Family, assisted by student Ammar Abdel Halim. This family was established to organize events, spread technological awareness among students, and promote the Academy’s activities both inside and outside the university.
The Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University stated that participation in Huawei’s global competitions aims to nu and empower the future generation of local talent in the field of information and communications technology. To contribute to achieving digital transformation plans and developing strategies that rely on information technology, particularly within all faculties on campus. He explained that the goal of participating in local and international competitions is to develop students’ skills in creative thinking, instill a spirit of innovation, follow up scientific developments, and expand self-learning methods rather than relying solely on traditional indoctrination methods. He also emphasized the importance of integrating students with advanced technology.
Dr. Tamer Saleh noted that these achievements are due to the distinguished work of the academy and the efforts of the university students and faculty members who participated in this honorable success.
