Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnaby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university’s faculties organized a number of annual Ramadan iftar gatherings in cooperation with student activity clubs and the Scientific Society for Communications and Artificial Intelligence “Teletitans,” under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
He explained that this has become a well-established tradition aimed at strengthening bonds of friendship between students and faculty members. He also pointed out that organizing such events reflects a deep awareness that “sustainability” begins with building the individual and strengthening their sense of belonging to their educational environment, which transforms the university campus into a vibrant community that contributes to achieving comprehensive development.
In the same context, Dr. Hanaa Abdelrahman, Advisor to the President of the Egyptian Russian University for Student Activities, stated that in order to strengthen human and social connections between students and faculty members, the Faculties of Pharmacy, Applied Arts, Fine Arts, Artificial Intelligence, and Engineering organized their annual iftar events in a joyful Ramadan atmosphere. The events included a diverse program of sports and entertainment activities and witnessed a large attendance of students.
She praised the excellent organization carried out by the Cyber Security Club and the Scientific Society for Communications and Artificial Intelligence “Teletitans,” as well as the remarkable participation of students from different faculties. She confirmed that such initiatives come within the framework of the university administration’s commitment to supporting student activities that create a positive university environment combining academic excellence and social cohesion.
Dr. Alaa Mohamed El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the aim of organizing the faculty’s annual iftar event was to bring together members of the faculty community in a human moment reflecting the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. The event witnessed a remarkable attendance of students and alumni from various engineering specializations, demonstrating the strong bonds among different departments and generations within the faculty.
In the same context, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering indicated that the event was preceded by distinctive preparations carried out by the Teletitans family, whose members decorated the entire Engineering Faculty building in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative created a festive Ramadan atmosphere throughout the faculty and received great appreciation from both students and faculty members.
For her part, Dr. Shaimaa Mostafa, Head of the Communications Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering, stated that the activities during the iftar event were not limited to the meal itself. The day also included a variety of celebratory segments that added a special character to the event.
She explained that attendees enjoyed performances representing Egyptian folk cultural heritage such as traditional mizmar shows, tanoura dance performances, and entertaining musical segments, which brought more joy to the audience. A special corner was also prepared to document the occasion through a photobooth, specially equipped to capture souvenir photos for students and attendees. The photos were uploaded digitally and made available to participants, with the option to print them instantly as a memorable keepsake from the event.
Dr. Shaimaa Mostafa confirmed that the organization of the Engineering Faculty celebration involved Dr. Ahmed Hamdy, General Supervisor of the Scientific Society for Communications and Artificial Intelligence Teletitans, Engineer Hazem Yehia, Secretary-General of the group, Fatma Ahmed Mohamed, President of the group, and Khaled Mohamed Farouqi, Vice President.
The event was also supported by a team of student organizers including: Farida Yasser, Rahma Abdelhamid, Mariam Osama, Rawan Mohamed, Mayar Salah, Roaa Tarek, Maram Tamer, Malak Mahmoud, Sundus Walid, Mariam Mohamed, Habiba Ashraf, Shaza Ahmed, Mohamed Ahmed Abdelrazek, Ezzat Sadeq, Mohamed Yasser, Mazen Mahmoud, Ahmed Tamer, and Seif El-Islam El-Sayed.
Students and members of the faculties also expressed their happiness with these initiatives, emphasizing that such events strengthen their sense of belonging to the university. They added that these activities contribute to building a cohesive university community that brings together students, alumni, and professors within a framework of mutual respect and appreciation, ensuring continued dedication and loyalty to the university.
