In cooperation with Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism, the Egyptian Russian University Organizes a Seminar on Identity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Affirming its enlightening and educational role—which goes beyond providing knowledge to include shaping students’ conscious and balanced personalities capable of confronting contemporary challenges—and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, a seminar titled “Identity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was held in cooperation with Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism. The event was attended by faculty deans, academic staff members, and students.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Hamada Shaaban, Supervisor of the Turkish Language Monitoring Unit at Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism, and Dr. Wissam Hashad, Supervisor of the Hebrew Language Monitoring Unit at the Observatory. The speakers discussed the concept of identity, the importance of preserving it, and protecting the deeply rooted system of values that lies at the heart of the Egyptian character. They also warned against the misuse of artificial intelligence technologies as an unconventional tool of warfare aimed at creating division, weakening loyalty, and committing large-scale crimes against humanity.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the speakers emphasized the significance of awareness and the necessity of understanding the “schemes being plotted against the Arab world.” They strongly cautioned against being deceived by the misleading media discourse promoted by extremist platforms to distort facts and undermine consciousness.
The seminar witnessed strong engagement from attendees, including insightful interventions and fruitful discussions by students and faculty members. This enriched the dialogue and reaffirmed the importance of the university’s collaboration with state institutions in enhancing students’ awareness of national, Arab, and international issues.
