In cooperation with Huawei International... Details of the Information and Communications Technology Competition at the Egyptian Russian University... Photos

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university administration, in cooperation with Huawei International, organized an event to announce the launch of the fifth edition of the “Huawei ICT Competition.” The event was held at the university theater in Badr City. He noted that the event aims at introducing students to Huawei International Competition in the fields of information and communications technology and encourage them to participate in the local qualifiers, which later qualify for the regional and international stages. The event is supported by Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.

The President of the Egyptian Russian University explained that organizing this meeting comes as part of the university’s efforts to enhance cooperation with leading global technology institutions. He noted that these events represent an important opportunity for students and graduates to learn about developments in the fields of communications, information technology, and artificial intelligence. He added that this cooperation with Huawei comes in implementation of the protocol signed between the two parties to establish the academy on campus, to prepare Egyptian youth to meet the demands of the labor market.

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi noted that the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University achieved outstanding accomplishments over the past year. The university won first place globally in the latest edition of the competition, with Dr. Tamer Saleh winning the Best Trainer Award, and student Malak Ibrahim winning first place in the field of computing. He praised the academy’s continued successes at the local and international levels. He added that the competition’s timeline, registration mechanism, and free training opportunities available to students from both inside and outside the university were reviewed in a detailed presentation given by student Malak Ibrahim, the academy’s ambassador to the university.

On the same topic, Dr. Hesham Fathy, Dean of the College of Artificial Intelligence and General Supervisor of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that this competition is one of the most important activities contributing to building a generation of distinguished talents in the field of information and communications technology (ICT). He noted that the academy works to develop students’ skills and connect them to the local and international labor markets.

The General Supervisor of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University stated that the event featured a showcase of the training courses offered by Huawei as part of a joint cooperation agreement with the university through the Huawei Academy, an accredited center for training students and graduates on the latest global technologies.

Dr. Hesham Fathy presented the university’s shield to Huawei representatives in appreciation of their ongoing efforts in supporting the university’s students and graduates. The representatives were:

For his part, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Executive Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, revealed that a group of trainers and trainees who received international certificates in artificial intelligence and networking were honored after completing Huawei-accredited courses. The Executive Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that the qualifiers begin within Egyptian universities, then proceed nationwide, followed by the North Africa region stage, leading up to the global finals in China. He added that the Academy seeks to continue its journey of supporting digital transformation and graduating a generation of specialized engineers capable of competing in the local and international labor markets.

Dr. Tamer Saleh added that the event was organized by an integrated team from the university and the academy, with the participation of a group of Huawei Academy students and ambassadors, who organized the event inside the university theater and supervised the presentations and technical sessions. This contributed to the event’s successful outcome, reflecting the spirit of cooperation between the university and the global company Huawei.
