In cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology The Egyptian Russian University hosts students from the Children's University in its faculties
Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Nabi, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that within the framework of cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, the activities of the Child University at the Egyptian Russian University have been resumed, which is one of the mechanisms for spreading scientific culture and simplifying science, discovering and nurturing children’s scientific talents, selecting and supporting innovators and creators in the early stages of education to develop their capabilities, refine their talents, and introduce them to the university community and the fields of study in it. This comes in implementation of the contract with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology to host and present the Child University program ; Pointing out that the university pays great attention to the students of the Children’s University, based on the university’s responsibility towards society to prepare future cadres, keeping pace with the state’s interest in education and scientific research, and achieving “Egypt’s Vision 2030” for sustainable development, with the full support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
The President of the Egyptian Russian University indicated that two classes of the “fifth and sixth stage” were received, and the contract for the seventh stage is in progress. The university provides all the necessary tools, needs, halls, laboratories, and a good educational environment to present the content in an impressive and effective way. He pointed out that the study is presented over several weeks to enhance children’s skills, urge them to work and innovate, and activate their love of curiosity and exploration to introduce them to modern technology, and this is based on the university’s social responsibility, and in order to achieve the university’s mission to contribute to community development and prepare cadres for the future
In the same context, Dr. Hana Abdel-Rahman, the pioneer of student activities at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the university administration was keen to participate in the “Children’s University Program” initiative under the umbrella of the “Academy of Scientific Research and Technology” because of its great impact on developing children’s social interaction skills, improving their awareness and informing them of all that is new, building their personality, and strengthening their concept of citizenship and belonging. Adding that the university’s faculties have carried out many activities to implement the educational program for the children of “Children’s University”. The content was presented in line with the different disciplines to achieve the maximum benefit for the children.
Dr. Heba Abusteit, Coordinator of the Child University at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that during the lectures and workshops for the students of the “Child University” all the scientific content approved by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology in the fields of environment, energy, water, health, literature and arts, humanities, and Egyptology were explained, and the university’s work team added some topics of importance during the study, and explained the types of programs offered by the university’s faculties and the modern equipment they possess in various laboratories and workshops, and the specialties of each program were explained in coordination with faculty members and the assisting staff in various colleges of the university.
The coordinator of the Child University at the Egyptian Russian University noted that a positive interaction was observed from the children during the presentation of the academic content, as they asked questions and discussed the faculty members and their assistants, and some children carried out sketches and short scenes to show the extent of their benefit and express their opinions, and their performance was at a good level of conscious, creative and developed thinking. She explained that the children applied simulated models for the posters and drawings available within the various faculties at the university’s headquarters, and the children expressed their great happiness with the activities they practiced. The students’ parents also expressed their gratitude for what the university offers to their children and what it added to them of values, concepts and knowledge, and they also praised the performance of the Child’s University team at the Egyptian Russian University at all levels.
