The Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University in Cairo organized the exhibition and the scientific forum for the “Telecommunication Engineering” and “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” Departments, which is held periodically every semester. The forum included a number of distinguished  projects of some study courses and graduation projects of the final year students at the faculty of Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the  Egyptian Russian University.

Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, highlighted that this forum aims to encourage students in the field of scientific research and innovation, and to open the way for students to share their ideas to solve some social problems and make life easier for citizens through those projects.. He explained the goal of this forum is for students to implement innovations, Implementing what they learned in some of the courses they have studied. The projects and innovations were admired by the audience from academics, businessmen and companies owners who attended the exhibition’s activities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that the beginning of the forum was four years ago, when it started with some projects based on some logical controllers and “microcontrollers”… revealing that the number of projects participating in the current forum reached (150) projects in various technological and industrial fields which improve the quality of life.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Seddik, the lecturer at the Telecommunication Department at the faculty of Engineering, confirmed that the ideas of students’ projects in the forum keep pace with the great industrial development through modern technology. Among the participating projects, which showed the creativity of its developers, is the “Water Purification and Desalination Plant Project”, which was completely manufactured by the students. Other distinguished projects include extracting water of a higher purity than the existing stations, an office air conditioning project without the use of Freon, a wheelchair for people with disabilities, and a car sound control project.

In the same context, Dr. Tamer Saleh, the lecturer at the Telecommunication Department at the faculty of Engineering and the general organizer of the exhibition and forum, explained that he invited the deans of the university faculties, the teaching staff members of the Faculties, and some industrialists and companies owners to attend; In order to start the partnership between the owners of companies and students, to raise industry problems and try to solve them, which helps to link the industry with the university and scientific research.

Dr. Tamer Saleh stated that the jury was composed of specialized faculty members and sponsored by the “RGS” group, which is one of the most important groups established at the “university”. It was established with the aim of transferring students’ practical experiences to new students and exchanging knowledge among them; So that there is interaction and delivery of generations to each other and enrich the experiences of university students.

Mohamed Shalaby, President of the Small and Micro Industries Association in Badr City, and Dr. Ayman Sukkar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Magd Company for Construction and Development, attended the exhibition and the scientific forum for the “Telecommunication Engineering” and “Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering” Departments.
