Under the sponsorship of Professor / Dr. Sherif Fakhry, President of the University, Huawei International Competition for Information and Communication (ICT) was launched for the academic year 2024/2025.
The ceremony was attended by Professor / Dr. Alaa Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor / Dr. Hesham Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and General Supervisor of the Academy, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Lecturer of Communication Engineering and Executive Director of Huawei Academy at the University, in addition to a number of professors, supporting staff members and students from the University’s eight faculties. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Huawei International Company:

During the celebration, Dr. Tamer Saleh, the Academy Executive Director, presented the Academy’s achievements during the past year, among which are the following:
1. Training of many faculty members and supporting staff members.
2. Training 4,000 students and graduates from the university and from outside it up till now.
3. Participation in Huawei International Competition, the finals of which took place in China.
4. Four students won silver and bronze medals.
5. The academy won the second place at the level of the country.
6. Holding the employment forum which is affiliated to Huawei International Company, whereas a large number of graduates have obtained job opportunities at the company.
The student Mustafa Anwar, Ambassador of Huawei Academy at the University, who is a student in the final year at the Faculty of Engineering, then made a presentation on the competition’s mechanisms, conditions and stages. The presentation also explained the timings of each stage as well as the offered prizes. It also illustrated the ways to obtain the highest scores for getting the grand prize and reaching the finals in China and for attaining the first places at the world level.
During the ceremony, about 300 trainees who passed some of the courses offered by the academy during the past period were honored. Dr. Tamer Saleh also honored the organizing team.
