Minister of Higher Education Honors Egyptian Russian University Students for Winning First Places- Photos
Dr.Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdel-Nabi,President of the Egyptian Russian University,announced that Dr.Ayman Ashour,Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research,honored a group of students from the Egyptian Russian University for winning first place in the short film competition titled “Ideas of Belonging and Loyalty, Rejection of Violence and Intolerance,” organized by the Ministry in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Leadership Development Institute in Helwan. The competition included 211 students from various Egyptian universities, as part of the ministry’s interest in developing new administrative leaderships. The student participation came under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Din Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
The President of the Egyptian Russian University emphasized theuniversity’s keenness to support student participation in competitions and meaningful initiatives that highlight their creativity and enhance their sense of belonging, while contributing to shaping their societal awareness. He added that this honor is a new achievement showcasing the excellence of the university’s students. The winning students were Mohamed Maher Ahmed and Mohamed Mostafa Anis, who thanked Dr.Ayman Ashour and the Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the university for their support. The university announced the results of the competition,where students from the Egyptian Russian
University won first place for their short film titled “What Happened to Him?”.
Dr.Hisham Qatamesh,Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian Russian University, stated that student participation came within the university’s interest in developing creative student
talents, encouraging group work, positive interaction, and participation in various artistic competitions. These activities help refine students’ skills and develop their education in a practical way by giving them a platform to express their ideas. He noted that the students’ short film “What Happened to
Him?” sends a strong message of national awareness and community responsibility, warning of the dangers of addiction, drug use, and what harms the human body. It presents this message creatively to demonstrate their innovation.
The Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Egyptian Russian University also mentioned that the winning film presented by the students in the competition held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research focused on issues of national belonging and societal values. The film delivered strong messages to raise awareness about belonging and unity, and carried human messages promoting rejection of intolerance and violence. This aligns with the university’s strategy of developing students ethically and personally throughout their academic journey and all student activities.
Dr.Ayman Ashour praised the level of the Egyptian Russian University students during the honoring ceremony and honored the competition’s judging committee for their great efforts in the success and evaluation of the event. The committee included academics and experts in arts and media, namely: Dr.Mahmoud Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University and advisor to the president of Helwan University,and Dr.Mohamed Thabet,former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Assiut
University.
The honoring ceremony was also attended by Dr. Amr Alam El-Din,Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry and Assistant Minister for Institutional Development, Dr.Adel Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesperson for the Ministry and Media Advisor, Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister for Student Activities and Director of the Leadership Development Institute, and Dr. Tamer Mahmoud Tamer, Executive Director of the Fund for the Care of Innovators and Talented Individuals.
