Organized by the Faculty of Applied Arts, the Egyptian Russian University Holds the Student Conference on Interior Design and Furniture

Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnaby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the Faculty of Applied Arts at the university organized the First Student Conference of the Interior Design and Furniture Department, as part of the university’s and faculty’s commitment to supporting scientific and student activities, enhancing academic communication between faculty members and students, and preparing graduates capable of competing locally and internationally as scientifically, artistically, and professionally distinguished designers. Such graduates are able to elevate artistic taste and develop production techniques in this field.
He noted that the conference was organized with the support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal Mostafa, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, and was attended by a large number of faculty members, public figures, industry leaders, and specialists in the field of interior design and furniture.
In the same context, Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel Aziz Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Arts at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the conference featured a presentation highlighting the department’s developmental journey over the past three years, showcasing the qualitative leap in the educational process and academic activities aimed at keeping pace with labor market requirements. He added that efforts to develop the educational process and academic activities are carried out on a regular and continuous basis.
The Dean confirmed that the conference was organized under the supervision of Dr. Hossam El-Din Nazmi, Vice Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Yasser Maabad, Head of the Interior Design and Furniture Department. He further noted that outstanding and academically distinguished students were honored, in addition to honoring a number of faculty members in appreciation of their sincere efforts in supporting the educational journey of the department.
Dr. Ezz El-Din Abdel Aziz Hassan also stated that the conference included an interactive student session that allowed students to present and discuss their questions and inquiries related to the educational process, reflecting a spirit of constructive dialogue between students and faculty members. The session also addressed the department’s future vision, the integration between academic curricula and labor market needs, and the provision of practical training opportunities for students.
The Dean added that three intensive hands-on workshops were organized for students, covering various topics that serve the specialization areas of interior design and furniture, contributing to the development of students’ practical skills. The conference concluded in a positive academic atmosphere reflecting its success in achieving its educational and student-oriented objectives. The faculty administration affirmed that this conference represents the nucleus of a series of scientific events aimed at preparing a generation of designers capable of innovation and competition, while strengthening the link between scientific research and practical application.
