The Scientific Association Dental Students (EADS-ERU) at the Egyptian Russian University organized an awareness visit to the Children’s Cancer Hospital 57357 in Cairo, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Khaled Tawfik, Dean of the Faculty of Oral & Dental Medicine, and under the supervision of Dr. Ghada Al-Zayat, Assistant Professor of Conservative Treatment at the Faculty, and Supervisor of the Scientific Association at the Faculty.
During the visit, an introductory tour was conducted by the hospital officials for the students and the protocol followed in treating children was explained in terms of examination, treatment method, and other organizational structure of the hospital.
The students of the faculty carried out many activities during that visit, including: holding an illustrative presentation for children on how to brush their teeth correctly, distributing a number of toothpaste packages and toothbrushes to the children, and the students of the faculty carried out a number of recreational activities with the children, including competitions, photography, drawing, coloring, interactive games, distributing gifts, and taking souvenir photos with the children. Some students also donated blood.
