Participation of the Egyptian Russian University in the Innovation for Sustainable Digital Higher Education Conference

As part of the keenness of the Egyptian Russian University and its absolute belief in the importance of developing the university community and empowering information technology and its applications, Professor Dr. Essam Khamis, Advisor to the President of the University for Academic Development participated in the Innovation for Sustainable Digital Higher Education Conference, which was held at the American University in Cairo in cooperation with Times Higher Education and the American University of the Middle East.
The conference addressed the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in higher education, and reviewed the ethical considerations and issues related to it. This came within the framework of efforts aimed at implementing the university’s digital transformation policy and achieving Egypt’s vision 2030 for sustainable development, in addition to the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to raise the quality of education, scientific research and its applications.
The participants in the conference exchanged knowledge on the impact of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and governance in higher education to achieve the sustainable development goals. The quality of blended learning and online learning was also discussed in line with the requirements of the Middle East region.
Some questionnaires were also presented to the participants, such as: “What is the most important factor in developing successful cooperation between different industries to support a more sustainable world?” “What do you think is the most important factor for developing successful collaboration between different industries to support a more sustainable world?” and others. The conference was attended by many expert speakers and higher education leaders at the international level, in addition to a large number of major Arab universities, Times Higher Education, the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Association of Arab Universities, the British Council and others.
