“Step on the Way” conference’s display at the Egyptian Russian University in the presence of 290 students from the faculties of pharmacy

Prof. Dr. Sherif Fakhry Mohamed Abdelnaby, President of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that the university hosted the activities of the “Step on the Way” conference in its 15th edition for pharmacy students in all Egyptian universities, which was under the supervision of the Egyptian Pharmacy Students Federation EPSF at the Faculty of Pharmacy within the university. He pointed that such conferences come due to the university’s keenness to develop students’ skills, qualify them for the labor market, and participate in various activities, including permanent and continuous scientific activity for all students of the university’s eight faculties. In addition, the direct interaction during scientific conferences and meetings contributes to transferring sciences and knowledge and exchanging ideas between students whether from the same university or other universities. Hosting the conference by the university comes with the full support of Dr. Mohamed Kamal El-Sayed Mustafa, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees.

Moreover, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ihab Fattouh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, indicated that the “Step on the Way” conference of the Egyptian Pharmacy Students Federation EPSF, was attended by more than (290) students and lasted for four days. He indicated that the main goal of the faculty is to prepare  a high competent graduate with scientific, research and knowledge skills in the field of pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and drug technology. This can be achieved through academic programs, scientific projects and student activities that students make as well as participating in major conferences in the field of pharmacy from which students gain practical and scientific experiences In order to be able to join the labor market inside or outside Egypt.

Mohamed Hassan Ayad, Responsible student for pharmaceutical education at the Egyptian Pharmacy Students Federation EPSF of the Egyptian Russian University, clarified the importance of the “Step on the Way”  conference this year, as it included panel discussions and lectures in the pharmaceutical field. He shed the light on the importance of attending the upcoming conferences, whether “Step on the Way”  or  “Focus” by all students and graduates of faculties of pharmacy in Egypt to gain more experience and enrich their skills.

Mostafa Salah Ajwa, President of the Egyptian Pharmacy Students Federation EPSF at the Egyptian Russian University, illustrated during his speech that scientific associations are the building blocks of the scientific community. He also stressed on the significance of student activities and the role of the Egyptian Federation of Pharmacy Students in developing society and advancing the profession of pharmacy through community services involving campaigns throughout the year, including: “blood donation, awareness of diabetes, and scientific conferences such as the Step on the Way conference.” He noted that these activities and conferences contribute to the formation of students’ personalities in their practical and academic lives.

It is worth mentioning that the panel discussions and lectures dealt with topics on mental health and self-support including a discussion of the responsibility of social partnership was thrown by Dr. Mustafa Al-Dali, Psychiatrist and Addiction Consultant, and Dr. Asmaa Aladdin, Psychological consultant. A lecture was also given on Antibiotic Resistance by Dr. Salah Fayez, and a lecture on Industrial Pharmacology by Dr. Iman Askar. Furthermore, there were other lectures thrown in the discussion such as: Clinical Nutrition by Dr. Salah Darwish, Climate Change and ways to confront it by Dr. Israa Lashin, Career Planning by Dr. Bassant Abbas, and Sales Profession by Dr. Muhammad Abu al-Khair, Representative of AstraZeneca.

The Pharma Academy was also hosted to show the importance of the pharmacy profession and the role of the pharmacist in society and fields of work in a speech given by Dr. Ibrahim Abul-Magd. Besides, Dr. Amani Badawi illustrated the differential diagnosis. The events were concluded with an entertaining program with Jimmy, Freestyle Artist, in the university’s playgrounds.

Last but not least, The “Step on the Way” conference was attended by Dr. Mohamed El-Sheikh, Member of the Senate and President of the Cairo Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Essam Aboul Fotouh, President of the Sharkia Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Jamil Abdullah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Egyptian Russian University, and Dr. Omnia Ezzat, Supervisor of the Egyptian Pharmacy Students Federation EPSF of the Egyptian Russian University.
