Dr. Sherif Fakhry Abdel Naby, president of the Egyptian Russian University, in Cairo, Badr City, announced that the student “Fatima Al-Adlani” at “Bachelor’s stage” in the Department of Communications at the Faculty of Engineering at the university won a silver medal in the student qualifiers at the Republic level in the competition held by the international “Telecom Company Huawei”, at the end of the first semester of the current year ( 2021- 2022 ). Also the student Omar Samir Abdel – Mutal from the Department of Communications won a bronze medal in the same competition. Pointing out that (500) male and female students participated in the competition from all the Egyptian universities “public,private and National”. This competition aims to nurture and empower the future generation of local ICT talents to contribute to achieving digital transformation plans and setting up IT- based strategies.
The president of the Egyptian Russian University added that the university administration signed a cooperation protocol with “Huawei Company”, through which the “Huawei Academy” was established inside the university campus, To be among the first universities to cooperate with the company in academic activities; Because this has many benefits for students studying information systems. Noting that this success encourages the university to continue its way towards motivating its students to participate in various forums, whether “local or international “; To develop creative thinking skills, cultivate a spirit of innovation, follow up on every scientific development and go towards expanding self-learning methods instead of being satisfied with traditional indoctrination methods in education and working to integrate them with advanced technology.
On his behalf, Dr. Alaa Mohamed Al-Batsh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that the student “Fatima Al-Adlani”, did well among all the participants in the competition; To win the silver medal at the Republic level under the supervision of Dr. Hisham Fathy, General Supervisor of the Huawei Academy at the university, and Dr. Shimaa Mostafa, Head of the Department of Communications at the Faculty of Engineering at the university. Noting that the global “Huawei Company” is one of the leading companies in the field of communications and networking devices in the world, especially the fifth generation networks. It also provides everything new in the world of digital communications, and cooperating with it benefits the college students and graduates.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University pointed out that “Huawei” organizes an international competition every year, and the students of the Department of Communications of the Faculty of Engineering participated in the competition. He explained that the first step in the stage of applying for the competition includes choosing the section applied for by the participants between the two cloud void sections, cloud or network.
In the same context, Dr. Tamer Saleh, Lecturer in the Department of Communications at the Faculty of Engineering and the Executive Director of the Huawei Academy at the university stated that the “Huawei” competition began last November, before the end of the first semester, with the placement test and the distinction of the two students from the college in the competition; To be among the (500) male and female students who were selected from the universities and academies that participated and qualified their students to enter the competition, as the competition takes place at the state level and they win the silver and bronze medals.
Dr. Tamer added that the protocol with the international “Huawei”provides an opportunity to train the Faculty staff members and their assistants; to obtain the international certificate of the company; to become certified trainers within the university, especially in the field of information technology, which has become a vital area to lead the development of societies. Revealing that among the items of the protocol is the establishment of a center to train students from inside and outside the university; to benefit the local community and the neighboring cities of the university’s location in “Badr City”.
