The Egyptian Russian University announces the establishment of the Huawei Academy to develop the skills of youth.

Prof. Dr. Sheriff Fakhry Mohamed Abdel Naby, president of the Egyptian Russian University, announced that a joint co-operation protocol was signed with the international company “Huawei” to establish a “Huawei Academy”  inside the university campus for students and graduates from the faculties of the university or from other institutions, to provide them with sufficient skills and develop their technical capabilities that qualify them to face the future challenges of the Labour market and obtain”local or international” job opportunities, to keep pace with the requirements of the state’s vision in its plan for (2030) and to contribute to the digital transformation that the state aims to accomplish, to create good job opportunities in the field of modern technology, especially in the field of artificial intelligence in order to reduce the rate of unemployment among youth.

The president of the Egyptian Russian University explained that the aim of establishing the academy is to develop young people’s skills, giving them the chance to participate in international competitions, transfer technological knowledge to them, and train students of different ages from outside the university or graduates of various colleges and institutions by experts from Huawei, to obtain certificates accredited by a credible body which is recognized in the “regional and international” Labour market, to qualify them for job opportunities in the field of modern technology owned by major companies as Huawei.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Alaa Elbatsh , Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Egyptian Russian University, confirmed that the establishment of the “Huawei Academy” in the university campus increases the competitive opportunities of the college, and provides more opportunities for students and graduates of the Egyptian Russian University, to choose their careers in a better way, coping with the technological development in the world. Dr. Alaa explained that the academy provides opportunities for summer training and linking graduates with “information and communication technology “for the Labour market and spread the culture of freelancing.

Prof. Dr. Alaa added that one of the agreed terms is that Huawei will train a number of the Faculty staff members as well as the staff assistants to become trainers for students and graduates to provide them with skills in “information technology, network s, cellular phones, and some sciences and important modern technologies”, which are required in the local and global Labour market.

He indicated that it was agreed with representatives of “Huawei” that the university would participate in the periodic employment forums held by “Huawei” in which many companies operating inside and outside Egypt participate and are looking for cadres who have been trained on new branches of engineering sciences and the artificial intelligence to employ them.

Dr. Tamer saleh , Executive Director of the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University, explained that this agreement is the second of its kind on the university’s land after agreeing with the “Egyptian Space Agency” to establish a laboratory to be funded by the agency to train students. Huawei Academy which has a societal character will open the door for training to all “students and engineers” inside and outside the university.

Prof. Dr. Hisham Fathy, Head of Department of Communication, and General Responsible for the Huawei Academy at the Egyptian Russian University indicated that within the framework of this agreement, the Academy will take its first steps towards training some faculty members and junior staff in the field of “artificial intelligence” and its applications … noting that the Academy will develop and refine the students’ skills in the field of “Information and Communication Technology” through serious practical training that empowers them to face the Labour market and be able to compete in the field of “digital transformation”, as it is the goal of the political leadership of the state.

The signing of the protocol was attended by the Chinese official, Mr. Mabeen, on behalf of “Huawei” and some of the company’s members who are responsible for implementing the agreement and from the side of the Egyptian Russian University Dr. Hisham fathy, Head of the Department of “Telecommunication Engineering”  and General Responsible for the Academy, Dr. Shimaa Mustafa, Assistant professor at the Department of “Telecommunication Engineering”, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, lecturer at the Department of “Telecommunication”, Dr. Marwa Hamed, Lecturer at Department of “Telecommunication”, Dr. Mona Mousa lecturer at the Faculty of Management , professional Technology and Computers and some members of the junior staff attended the meeting.
